| Quote Ferocious Aardvark="Ferocious Aardvark"You don't have to trawl through anything. Get a search of my posts up and clicking the ones on this thread would take you straight there. But you won't, because like I said, what you do is ignore every question, and you hope it will be submerged and your swerve not noticed, or forgotten.'"
OK, give me until tomorrow to find them
Quote Ferocious AardvarkThat does not mean anything. Unless sin had been obliterated by this act, then the problem of sin clearly remains, unabated. What you seem to add to this equation is that (unless I read you wrong) we are all to be punished, for sins of our forbears in the past, and burn in hell, even if personally we do nothing wrong. Have I got that one right? '"
No, you haven't got that right. You are judged on your sin only, not someone else's. What people mean when they talk about original or Adam's sin is the emergence of sin into the world. You are not condemned to Hell for Adam's wrongdoing but your own.
You ask what happens if we do nothing wrong. This is impossible. The Bible tells us that we ALL fall short of God's mark. I'd like to see an example of someone who has lived a sin-free life (except Jesus of course )
Quote Ferocious AardvarkBut I do note your delusional suggestion that you were the one chosen follower. Even allowing for your conceit at being the "chosen one", intervention is not a question of degree. He either intervenes, or leaves you (personally) to it, based on your faith. As you no longer need faith, having met JC personally, that is a clear and unarguable intervention. You said JC contributed to your fruitful spiritual relationship. That is intervention.'"
He has not intervened. My heart was already open to a relationship with Jesus.
Quote Ferocious AardvarkLet me then just ask you ONE question, as I know you dare not and will not answer any of my earlier questions:
You now propose that, on the micro scale, god DOES intervene in people's lives, at a trivial, petty level, such as poping down to chat with you. So, on a similar micro-management scale, ou might have an innocent child bor with AIDS and syphilis. Why would JC not find it a better use of his time to pop round there than to yours?
Er, no. I don't sound like that at all, as there is no god. '"
My relationship with God is not trivial, it's actually the most important thing in the world.

Why did he talk to you and not Mother Theresa?
Why doesn't he approach the thousands of clergy men who have lost their faith, but still remain with the church because they can't earn a living doing anything else?
Would you not agree that when a person want's something enough, whether that is to communicate with the dead after losing a loved one, see fairies at the bottom of the garden or be that hungry and thirsty, their mind plays tricks (hallucinations) on them?
Is their any amount of science you would listen to and acknowledge if it went against your book, or would you always go scripture over science?

Why would God be interested in a no mark like Mother Theresa, anywhere in heaven or earth, when he could have the full attention of such a chosen one somewhere to the south of Horsforth?

No, it's THE most trivial thing in the world, because it's between a fantacist and a sky pixie, the most important relationship you have is between you and your wife and family, maybe you should put as much effort into your personal relationships as you to do your hatred of other people.
You are about as Christian as Hitler was Jewish.

'"
Your god falls short of my mark on many occasions.
Your god sits by and watches poverty, famine, disease and war in his name bring death, disfigurement and wretchedness to billions of people, all of whom were apparently made by him in his own image.
Your god goes to the trouble of creating new life within a woman only to see that new life unable to sustain itself outside the womb due to a spectacular lack of attention paid by him during its creation, and he tells those of you who have the benefit of his spoken word inside your head that its a trial for the parents to forbear - thats just pure evil.
Your god goes to the trouble of creating new life only to afflict it with a life threatening disease in its early years and he removes that young life from millions of proud and happy parents every year, then during their absolute grief tells them via people like yourself that its just something they'll have to live with and can get over it by loving him instead - thats just pure evil.
I don't think you're following a good, loving, caring sort of god at all, I think you're following the devil.

Their book shows them that this isn't the case, they would gladly kill their own flesh and blood at gods command.
What was poor Isaac thinking as Abraham held the knife at his throat. Some Creator.

It started getting 'a tad rabid' 101 pages ago with the OP. Why would you expect it to stop now.
McF sums it up perfectly.
Either Kirkstaller's god is not ominpresent, omniscient and omnipotent or.....
...he's the most rabid b#stard of all.

| Quote Ferocious Aardvark="Ferocious Aardvark"...........'"
I take it these are the questions you keep rabbitting on about?
Quote Ferocious AardvarkSo, if I understand Kirkstaller's latest comedic efforts, it's like this:
Some guy grabs a hold of the Ark, as one of the oxen stumbles. Presumably wanting the thing not to fall and be damaged.
This gets God mad. Kirkstaller does not explain why sych a selfless act could reasonably annoy anyone, let alone a God, who of course knows why the guy is selflessly trying to avoid damage to this here Ark.
Despite having always know this guy would choose to do that, God loses his temper. Odd, that. Especially for a God.
And he is so annoyed that he smites the poor bugger dead. Kirkstaller does not explain on what possible basis a just God would lose his temper over someone trying to be helpful, let alone end their life.
So presumably, having killed the guy, God then immediately has to forgive him, and off to Heaven he goes? Or was this minor act sufficient to send the guy to the flames of eternal hell?'"
It was an act of great blasphemy. The Bible tells us there is a heaven and a hell. Where do you think he ended up?
Quote Ferocious AardvarkAnd finally, as a catchall safeguard, even if (or maybe because) he can't explain any of this, kirkstaller falls back on the weird claim that God can't murder people. He can't? Thought he was supposed to be omnipotent?'"
Not physically impotent, it's more about the definition of murder. Murder can only be committed by people. Like I said earlier, you would label a shark, a tarantula or prostate cancer a murderer. Murder has only ever existed between men, since Cain and Abel in fact.
If you say he is not omnipotent due to this, then I wish to remind you that true omnipotence would allow God to overcome logical and definitional paradoxes.
Quote Ferocious AardvarkCome on kirkstaller, let us have the benefit of your reasoning here. Pack in the one liners, and Cantona-esque rejoinders like "it's not murder because sharks are not murderers", and at leats try to make a coherent explanation of your crackers point that if god murders you, it isn't murder. Or are you saying God is an orca, and can't help it?'"
See above. Good luck on trying to secure that conviction on spontaneous human combustion.
