The loss lays minimal blame with Calland, his only fault in my eyes was playing Black. He wasn't fit on Thursday and he was still hobbling during the game. Bowman changed the game when he came on and was one of a very few who were rallying the troops to form scrums early and get their lazy butts into gear.



The rest of the blame lies with the players we have, who are good enough. It is the whole reason we have a squad, so the same 17 players don't play week in, week out. You'd have thought the players who didn't play Thursday would have taken their chance yesterday with both hands but in reality it was players who played on Thursday who were the only ones who could hold their head high - Worrincy, Branighan, Bowman and Maloney.



It is about how we deal with this setback now, last year we crumbled and lost 5 on the trot, we can't afford to do that now, especially this early in the season and especially with Leigh coming to town next week.

Calland confirmed to radio Leeds what I thought I saw happen, he watched the video back and assured the interviewer that Branno actually grounded the ball over the try-line, in which case, Laughton was incorrect for not allowing an advantage situation to develop from the foul play.

I felt he had grounded the ball as well. He is a terrific player I just hope he doesn't get high shots like this every week
