Jack Burton:
Apparently, Sky aren't happy about having to broadcast an extra game that they haven't paid for. Honestly, the lack of foresight and professionalism within RL is an embarrassment. How can we ever hope to attract sponsors and broadcasters when there's no stability or professionalism.
There's been next to no communication from the people involved in this apart from the standard line of the game is losing money and we need a governing body who is sympathetic to the people with actual 'skin in the game'.
The only way this changes is if someone comes along with enough cash to buy the whole thing, or things get so bad, the owners will have no choice but to sell to the NRL for a cut price (I suspect this is what the NRL actually wants).
I'm also a bit disappointed with Hetherington and his part in all of this.
I mean he's voted for this as CEO of the Rhinos whilst being the majority owner of The Broncos.
There's so much wrong with all of this, I mean it doesn't give you a good hand to play with your Main Broadcaster when you suddenly change the terms of the deal without consulting them, what confidence does that give them to give us a better deal next time.
