My mind must be playing a blank. It was Burrow who Brough caught wasn't it? or is the OP talking about another passage of play?

For the Brough interception try - it was his mis-tackle which let him in not his speed. But all in Hall (

) he tackled well.

1, Brough is actually quite quick.



2, Think about how an intercept works...Brough was already facing and running in the direct of the try line. Hall had to turn around set off running...by which Brough was already 20 meters in front. Hall did well to get a near ankle tap.

Yup. Brough had a good 15 yard start and Hall just about caught him 10 yards out then for some reason it looked like he tried ankle tapping him

Neil, he was not there, he did not see Hall turn from running the other way, accelerate up to speed, make up the 10 to 15 metres he would be behind at the start of Brough's run and still manage to get in an ankle tap (albeit unsuccessful) on a very quick half-back!

Brough is very quick, and presumably had a head start. Its not unreasonable to expect a very quick half back to score an interception try.

I'd put Brough up there with Burrow, Jefferies and Dorn as one of the quickest halfbacks in the league. Kearney from Bradford is supposed to be rapid as well. McGuire used to be right up there with the above names until his hernia problems.

Were not talking about a number 10. I would expect any scrum half in his twenties to score from that position
