Until the most recent split from GB into england and Wales he has a point. A lot of England games have been effectively GB reserves playing at the same time as the actual test team. The problem is that there have been occasions - world cups - where England has been the main team. Having said that, its a bit subjective to identify some england games as more important than others, so I reckon counting all the caps is probably the only sensible thing to do.

He's right, the RFL PR and/or Sky Sports and/or any other media who pick up the press release are wrong but the RFL arsing about with stuff to serve their own nonsense is hardly new is it ?

If he'd have looked after himself better during his career we'd probably be talking about whether anyone will ever get close to Schoey's record. He'd have far more than 49 caps.

Yes, he's bitter and yes, he's right.

The trouble with Schoey is that because he comes over so bitter so much of the time, it seems like sour grapes even when he's got a case.



Shame 'cos he remains one of my favourite all time players and he certainly did some amazing stuff for both club and country.

When I saw the thread title I got all excited thinking it was to be about a new real ale from the Leeds Brewery.

I think the RFL with this appearance records thing I think they are trying to get the international game going and making it more in the public eye,but Schoey is coming across as bitter.I mean you wont get Lewis Jones questioning Sinny's right to the club points scoring record if and when he breaks it

I don't understand his issue - the only that should matter to him is how many times he played for GB - what any other player did/does is irrelevant.



Typical of an individual in a team sport - more interested in his own stats. One stat still remains we haven't beaten the Aussies in a series for over 40 years and that includes the time when Schofield played and that is the only stat that should matter in a team sport

It's hard, very hard, to ever feel sorry for this bloke.
