I don't care if he's best mates and they practise fist pumps like Hardaker and Charnley. The first rumour that was dependent on Leigh getting promoted was clearly wishful/premature thinking on Brierley's behalf. |

How old is breirley? 24?
As other have said seems bizarre to buy him and loan him back to a championship club. He has zero experience in SL, if we had signed him why would we not want him playing and learning in SL. Seems daft

Just to lob in a hand grenade, on his performances against SL opposition in the Super 8s, is Brierley really "all that"?
He's undoubtedly a better player than the one who got let go by Cas as a kid, but does he have the all-round game to perform at the highest domestic level week-in, week-out?

I personally don't think he is "all that" but time will tell especially as we appear to be signing him |

In August Frosties said:

A couple of weeks ago Frosties reported the "deal" had changed to some very odd plan of him being paid and on loan from Leeds but playing for Leigh until 2017 but kept secret until May 2015.
So I say it was never a "deal" in the first place as reported and secondly it is not secret so excuse the large pinch of salt I need to swallow this story. Although it may well be true because so couldn't make it up really! |

I believe the second story could be true about agreeing to let Leigh have him one more season.
I very much doubt the first story, especially that it was changed late on by the club. Good chance that Sutcliffe will miss the start of 2016, probably won't be firing on all cylinders straight away. Aiton's departure has been confirmed since then and Leigh's SL chances are hanging by a thread....yet we tore up the original deal that would've seen him here and let Leigh have him on loan with us coughing it up. Would make absolutely no sense for us to agree to that u-turn.
