Is that just after the Quins game cos i've seen the Rhinos against Crusaders, Wakey and Melbourne so far this season and seen nothing from them to trouble us.'"
I think you have to acknowledge that the Giants tactics last year were based around winning and trying to dominate the ruck by the wrestle but not hold down as such, although you run a greater risk of getting pinged for it. All teams hold down as much as the ref allows them to, that is called playing the game to the ref and whistle, nothing wrong with that. The point being made is more about how Silverwood is going to treat this, given that IMO (and many other peoples) that the Giants tactics were similar last season (not seen you play on Sky yet this season) to how Melbourne played last week.
I think as a supporter you must be worried that Silverwood could go on the offensive in respect of the criticism being levelled at him for the WCC and you run the risk of getting pinged lots, if you stick with those tactics? Alternatively, Silverwood could go the other way and let both sides (as Bluey said, he will coach his players to dominate the ruck as much as the ref will allow if he thinks that is the way the ref is allowing the game to go) slow things down.
I think the assessments of a slow game versus a possible big penalty count (possibly even both ways) is a distinct possibility.
In respect of your statement above about being troubled, I think you are kidding yourself about the Melbourne game, that was a tough and tight game and was the seasons best performance by any SL side this season so far, even in defeat. I am sure Nathan Brown knows that as well!

| I'm not so sure about that mate, the Rhinos fans I work with thought they lacked attacking ideas. McGuires try was an opportunist try. Watkins came close twice but other than that I can't remember them causing Melbourne any trouble. I didn't see the Quins game but can that be used as a yard stick to say you've turned the corner?

So you think now that you've watched Leeds against Crusaders and Wakey Leeds are not going trouble you this season? Do you really think the real Leeds Rhinos side in form played against Wakey and Crusaders?
Against Melbourne Leeds were immense. We only just lost by 8 points and kept Melbourne out on our own line time and time again.
Jeez think that at your own peril buddy, your going to get a huge fooking slap across the face on Sunday!

| Are you saying immense just because it was Melbourne that you ran close? A team that hadn't played a full competative game this season. I din't say you wouldn't trouble us this season. I'm sure you will when you start hitting the straps. I just don't think you're there yet from the Leeds games i've seen this season. The Rhinos of last year would have beaten Melbourne the other week imo.

To be fair to Leeds we did get over the Melbourne try line 3 times, we just didn't finish the chances.

The team that lost to Quinn's & Salford at home?
It's all about form.

As mentioned above we did get over the line 3 times, with Donald playing im sure he would have finished the chances unlike Watkins. Also add to that fact we lost Sinfield early on in the game. If you would have taken Cameron Smith out of their side the score could have been the other way around.
I know what your saying though mate, one great performance doesn't necessarily mean the week after we will be at our best again. But don't turn up on Sunday thinking Leeds will play like they did against Crusaders and Wakey, or you will have a shock.

I would hope to repeat that Storm form, because you and any other super league club would not get close if they did.
Anything like our Wakefield and Salford form, then you can start to wet your pants. But I took more out of that Melbourne game than I did against Quins, regardless of result and score.

I'm not mate, i'm sure Leeds will lift their game against a team who could push them all the way this season. It's good to see that we can disagree on some things without resorting to insults like some you come across on forums. Here's hoping for a good hard game on Sunday and may the best team win and not come down to an error from the officials. Safe journey over.

| P.S
Danny McGuire's try against Quins is the individual try of the season so far for me. He just reminds me of a young Garry Schofield.
