| Quote leeds owl="leeds owl"Manchester's a big old place, i'm sure it would be easy enough to find a pub that isn't packed to the rafters away from the ground. If your wanting to drink around the stadium i'd go with west cumbrian rhinos strategy and buy some cans. If you buy a couple at a time from a well stocked off licence fridge you're laughing. We found a little polish store in wembley that was selling ice cold 6% polish lager for £1.10 a chuck, job done. I've spent about 20 of my 45 years queueing in pubs for flat overpriced beer, there'll be none of that on saturday.'"
There won't be any flat overpriced beer for me on Saturday either, after all, I am a discerning drinker. Only the best for me.
You wouldn't even know a big RL match is being played when you go drinking around Manchester City Centre on Saturday. The places up near where West Cumbrian Rhino is going to be drinking are quite expensive, certainly not £1.10 a can, so if you are desperate to act like a tramp, probably best to buy somewhere else and bring them in a carrier bag.
Just out of interest, where do you go for a slash around there? The place is crawling with pigs.

I'll have a crate on the bus with me, I'll just take some of them out with me!
The going for a slash thing doesn't bother me, I've learned to control my bladder!

| I'm shocked that Simon Kendall hasn't added his guide to Manchester in this thread after his visit on Sunday

Last time I was up in Manchester my secretary booked me into a hotel 'boutique hotel' in Canal Street - she claims 'not to have known'
Yeah right...
Had a good night mind

There's a drinking ban on the streets around OT now.

From what i've heard the jails are full to capacity, i don't think they'll be able to suddenly find room for a few thousand more flouting the drinking ban. I wonder if they'll be giving out spot fines for people dropping litter in the street as well ? The area outside Old Trafford may begin to resemble the ghettos of 70's New York with people walking around drinking furtively from brown paper bags. A couple of small 9% bottles of Chimay or similar style Belgian lager will easily be secreted within my Barbour jacket poaching pockets if i get whiff of the fuzz.
