| I agree. I tipped Wigan to finish well ahead of Leeds in preseason but also thought Leeds would win this particular fixture in the current circumstances.

Plenty - I'd say the majority - had Castleford finishing top four in the preseason thread. Perhaps not that many had them top two (can't remember without checking) but I think plenty saw them mixing it with the big boys this year. |

Plenty saw Leeds not having a cat in hells chance of competing this year and perhaps struggling to avoid the Middle 8's because apparently losing our training ground and a shortened pre-season were just excuses.

Predicting top 4 (haven't checked how many) and watching them post an average of over 40 points at home and sit top of the league I'm pretty sure would be not what folk were expecting. Unless you were of course. |

I would suggest Castleford's relative high placing in a preseason poll of predominantly non Castleford fans shows many could indeed see them amongst this season's contenders. Time will tell if they can stay there but so far so good for the majority.
Did you enter? Where did you see them?
I don't think scoring points was a perceived issue for Cas, it was their defence that needed work.

I doubt most people's predictions are that accurate when considering every side in the competition. Don't most people just rank the teams and have a view about their relative strengths/weaknesses?
Anyway, if the opposition was as awful as Leeds were against them, then the average is at least as much down to garbage defence as the Cas attack.

Where I envisaged them to be is on the record. If memory serves I had them 3rd after the opening 23 rounds - behind Warrington and Wigan. I can't say I'd given too much thought to the number of points any team would average at home but as said IMO it was Castleford's defence that needed to improve for them to become a contender.
