| Quote Andy R="Andy R"I saw the Joel try again at HT and thought that was absolutely fine. It looked, from a distance, like the Bish one might have been a touch forward so maybe it evened itself up.
Bar the 2 decisions mentioned in a 10 minute spell in the second half I actually thought Silverwood had a very good game - he was helped by both sets of players as well'"
I also thought the pass for the Joel one was flat but I honestly can't see any diffidence that and the Hall one. Didn't see owt controversial in the BJB one (BTW I thought that was a soft try at first sight but when I saw a replay it was a very good finish...Bish stepped inside almost simultaneously to catching the pass and utterly wrong footed Riley)

| I thought the Monaghan "challenge" on Sinfield was a disgrace. To say it was anything other than a deliberate attempt to injure Sinfield is naive to say the least.

| On the other hand, see how Ryan Bailey 'celebrated' the last (Hall) try ?
Straight over and in the face of the resident Dog-Botherer on the wing .... Classic Bailey

Was sight right in front of it, he was in Michael Monaghan''s face not his brother. I couldn't stop laughing
I couldn't work out what it was all about at the time but only now have I remembered that it was Monaghan who knocked Sinfield out.

| I thought Silverwood had a shocker.
Few challenges he didnt penalise Wire for and let them get away with not being square many a time

I don't think he's alone on that one. Go back to last seasons GF, and you'll be shocked at the number of times we weren't square at the PTB in the first 15 minutes of that 2nd half. I'd guess at times we were guilty of it tonight too.

| FWIW I thought the Monaghan challenge on Sinfield was indeliberate and "committed". The Hall no-try and the BJB try were both on the edge of being forward and we got one and didn't get the other, so it's par. The Hardaker knock-on was plainly a bad decision, but Silverwood wan't defending our right wing on the next set. Fair do, Dickie had a pretty good game, particularly keeping his whistle out of his mouth for minor rubbish at the play-the-ball and refereeing to international standard. I don't know why they don't do that every week.

It's a funny one because I expect it is the same in every other game but because I stand side on I don't notice it. Always notice not standing square at Old Trafford!
I'll stick by my opinion that Silverwood had a decent game other than a 10 minute blip.
Very similar to the Wigan game where I though he controlled it very well but made a couple of shockers.

Absolutely agree with all this.
(Monaghan is not a McIlorum. Maybe a little late, but the malice wasn't there.)

Having just watched the last 20 minutes back on Sky+ the exact same thing just occurred to me. The GF comes round and there's a leniency on small offences at the PTB that don't have an effect on play, and the spectacle is all the better for it. Why they can't apply this common sense for the rest of the season I don't know.
