| I pointed the same out elsewhere that McClennan was given the boot for a season which stood good comparison with most in the history of the club. By comparison, this season is heading towards being the worst ever in the history of the club by a number of measures.

Pushing out McClennan was ridiculous imo, if Mcguire and Peacock didnt get injured (or even just McGuire) then he would have won three GFs on the bounce
But, GH saw something he didnt like and you have to say he gets more wrong than right, just as Im pretty confident he will do whats best at the end of this year

| Quote Biff Tannen="Biff Tannen"I agree if it is that then its poor form from JP. I doubt he would take very kindly to suggestions a Dumb prop shouldn't be giving opinions on TV would he?
I find it hard to believe TBH, Carney and Wells come across well and certainly know their stuff that much is clear.'"
They've got a hooker, a loose forward and a pair of props in the commentary box and none of them make any sense at all.

I'm not entirely sure what Peacock's point is but anyone who has watched those DVD's of the GB Tri Nations tour down under in 2006 will know that it was the winger (Brian Carney - GB vice captain) doing most of the talking in the dressing room pre-game, half time and post game rather than (Peacock - GB captain).
Peacock's dressing room contribution after Carney had spoken at length to the rest of the players was often nothing more than to shout out... [i"Come on lads, lets now get out there and f****** smash 'em!"[/i

| Well McDermott's comment on targeting 4th place looks on the mark now!. Pity he did not finish the sentence that he was referring to the middle 8s - MOT

| Carney and Wells, putting rugby to one side are very intelligent men.
I'd rather listen to them than the original source material for Bo Selecta's Mel B impression.

Absolutely. Carney spoke with so much passion and did everything he could to lift great Britain. I like JP but if that his point it's massively disrespectful .

| Quote Andy Gilder="Andy Gilder"Hetherington sacks McDermott now, he looks an absolute idiot.'"
He's already looking like an idiot. The team has not improved since week one and that is down to the coach. Points scored242, against 380 i.e -138
it doesn't take a genius to realise that they they need to tackle, tackle, tackle. Forget the attack just tackle the opposition into the ground. If you stop them scoring you've got a point already but NOTHING has been done to shore up the defence all season!

| Quote craigizzard="craigizzard"That might be true. We'll never know what the score would have been if Hardaker started at 1.
However I think it's terrible man-management in three ways.
1) For Hardaker. Putting a guy who is not without ego but has been outstanding into the least involved position in the team can only be taken as a deliberate humiliation.
2) For Holding. Unnecessarily exposing a young player at a delicate stage of his career to a vital position in a struggling team, with potentially very bad effects for his confidence and development.
3) For the rest of the team, who may be equally wrong-footed by the coach's decision and certainly suffer the effects of the team being deliberately weakened at a time when it needs all the help it fan get.'"
Hardaker has been in dreadful form all season at fullback. I do not know if he has been carrying an injury but he has looked slow of foot and slow of thought. Like many players that rely mainly on their physique he will not be as good once he loses some physical advantage which has happened. Other teams realise he is not going to pass and have him worked out and he looks like a busted flush this year. Last night he too was thrown around like a rag doll and when he was moved back to fullback as Cas took their foot off the gas he still looked insecure and as bad as he has been all year. I would look to try and cash in on his past reputation and get rid.
Golding was one of the few to keep trying last night and has shown he has the mental toughness and enthusiasm to not to dent his confidence but with forwards not tackling around the legs he had had a busy evening with breaks coming all over the field.
