Best - Leopard, Doncaster & Adelphi, Hull. The Adelphi is probably the biggest poo hole I've seen gigs in, but it somehow has a great, old-fashioned ambience. Clitheroe Grand isn't bad either on a 'next size up' scale of things.



Worst - Anywhere that holds over five or six hundred.

Heaton Park (Nightmare to get away from late at night)

I'd suggest an obvious neglect of H&S and gig capacity, in probably ten years of doing the Cockpit I've never felt uncomfortable.

Never a venue I got on with tbh.. a few more in the area were doing pay to play schemes which I think is a total joke of an idea and terrible for music in general

My favourite is the Holmfirth Picturedrome at the moment. Also like Sheffield Corporation or anywhere with black walls and a sticky floor!

Least favourite is Sheffield Arena or NEC.

Was in there last weekend watching a local band the 48K's.



Seen many bands there over the years ranging from local bands, cover bands (such as Limehouse Lizzy) to bands like the Groundhogs.



I believe Funeral For A Friend are lined up to play there.

Not really a fan of Arena-type venue's.



Sheffield Corporation would be a favourite of mine. Used to regularly go to and enjoy the original Bradford Rio's in the 90's.

I'm a real venue snob these days. If the venue is gash I will often give the gig a miss. I'm incredibly stubborn, I know.

The Cockpit in Leeds is so hit and miss. The venue itself is good with a variety of different rooms that can generate a really good atmosphere but everything else is terrible. The beer is crap and the toilets are a disgrace. When attending a gig here I usually booze somewhere else, turn up and watch the gig, go back to boozing somewhere else.

Another venue I forgot. Brilliant in there and it's quality for comedy nights

Best venue used to be the Liverpool Royal Court, but alas, it's now some comedy club. Excellent sound to be found at Manchester Ritz, Warrington Parr Hall and Northampton Roadmenders.



The worst by far has to be Liverpool echo arena. Acoustics are dreadful.
