McIllorum wasn't even cited for his tackle post-brawl and neither was Wilkin for his spate of petulant high shots. Like I said in the Magennis thread, I think McIllorum not being charged is more to do with not banning 4 players from the same team, he does that any other week and he'd have been banned.

I don't think they've done too bad a job, but I think Hock deserves a bit more. He caused the whole thing and I don't see why he shouldn't be aligned with Magennis. He threw punches for absolutely no reason as well and caused the initial incident with his messing about with head positions with LMS and his raising his head into LMS.

I suggest u watch it again, LMS was the instigator, Hock was silly to react but it was Saints only gameplan on the day that worked

That about sums up both Mike Rush and our coach Rob Powell, they may be good with academy players but they are completely out of their depth in Super League! it does our game no credit.

No, Hock decides to start it. It's Saints' scrum, so LMS has 'head' in the scrum. Hock, being the mindless and petty bully tries to take it off him. LMS moves it back, so Hock twice ducks his head up into LMS, which LMS objects to and stands up. The cheek of someone standing up to him makes Hock see the red mist and he starts trying to uppercut LMS. Fortunately for LMS, Hock's fighting skills are as sharp as his intellect and he isn't hurt by it.

Won't Hocks previous have a bearing on his ban?

Only insofar as he isn't eligible for an early guilty plea.



Magennis deserves everything he gets IMO. That should then teach him that if you're going to fight, do it face to face. Preferably, though, concentrate on actually making an impact on the rugby pitch first.

Sad indictment of the softdness of SL these days. I wouldn't have banned any of them.
