Today was a reflection of the competition between the top teams in super league i.e. very close.......the big plays all came off for the giants and saints didn't quite click into gear........The salary cap is doing what it issupposed to - taking the predictabilty out of the game - which is a good thing........Not today tho, cos it hurts when you are used to getting to the cc final........



Anyway, we still have a decent squad and players will be coming back in time for the play-offs.......The week off for the cc final will give us the opportunity to freshen up and the emotional energy used during the build up wont be an issue this year........we have proved over the years how difficult it is to back up a cc final win with a grand final victory, so this year we will have a real shot at bringing the BIG prize back to KR........

Leeds are better than us as well though. There is a very real chance we won't be at Old Trafford.



We've got Hull KR away next week, which is a horrible fixture at the best of times. We've then got Huddersfield at home and they'll be cock-a-hoop about themselves. If we lose those two we'll struggle to make the top 2.



We haven't got enough senior players to win anything this season. I've said it all along and you lot mocked me for it.

I aint mocked anyone - we've lost some senior players and blooded some new guys - currently top of Super league and made the semis of cc so not doing to badly - so not sure your argument is sound......Although in my opinion, it is a matter of form and confidence that will be the difference between winning and losing....

That is complete rubbish. Leeds arent a patch on us when we are at full strength and firing.

When was the last time we were either of those? Semi final last year perhaps?

But I'm right now and I've been right all along this season. I said towards the end of last season that our recruitment policy that you lot marvel at (Release scores of senior international players and sign one and promote youth to plug gaps) was going to ruin us. It has this season. We won't win a thing.



And yet again for about the fourth consecutive season we'll be weaker next season with less senior players than ever before.

Leeds have gone down hill this year and if anyone wont be going to the GF its Leeds.

If we bring in two good props (or one if Frodsham progresses) we're sitting pretty. We've got guys like Wheeler, Lomax & Eastmond, all of which are only one season away from being the real deal. Soliola will give us a lot of punch in the centres. Magennis is a massive prospect. Very soon we'll have one of the most talented generations ever to pull on a Saints shirt and they'll all have eight to ten years at the top. We only need to add one or two good players per season to keep us there or thereabouts.

Just think how much experience Eastmond, Dixon and Dean got from that game. They will be better for it in the long run. In 2 years time those players could be the best in SL because of how much experience they have gained.



We need another prop for next year, but in the long run we are looking strong

yeah losing in a semi final is always a blessing....its how I have got through the last 20 years....

The only - and only - way this loss is a blessing to Saints is that it finally gives our blokes a weekend off. They haven't had a weekend off in three years (unless injured). So they are well overdue.
