We've been stalling on our new coach for few weeks now. Are Saints seriously having 2nd thoughts over Royce? Or is Kieron Purtill the new front runner?

After the great debate were all having about Potter's early departure I though I'd see what 'the fans' want at Saints??

I'd rather give Ricky Stuart a go now he's available to be honest.

I'd go with the players choice. Who they work best under and happiness off the field determines the performance on the field.

I voted Simmons - he has worked under Tim Sheens for a long time now and I think that might give him the edge. Purtill should remain part of the coaching team though with maybe a bit of succession planning going on this time....

It worked under Daniel Anderson, when we used to play "champagne rugby league" as Stevo puts it.

I would like to see Purtill get it, I think his time will come though even if he doesn't get it this time round.

How will players know who they work best with until they have worked with them after they have been given the job?



By all means involve some senior players in the interview process (KC - joining the conditioning staff, Wellens, Graham) but unless you have them taking training sessions its going to be impossible to see how they work together (which in terms of an interview is not going to be indicative of their full time efforts)
