Before the latest Meli brainfart, it was a disgrace how easily HKR had broken our lines. Let's be honest, HKR are a mid-table side at best



Saints have been allwed to become a very poor side. There are some substandard players in there, coupled with some with big reputations who are playing like puddings (Hohaia not amongst these today - he's been our best player so far). First the woeful Potter, then Simmons, followed by the write-off season under Rush. All this has contributed to our downfall. I was never convinced about Brown, but he's even underwhelming me.

Hohaia has been awful. His defence is lamentable.

Your probably right , I just saw it again and he jumps too which makes it even worse . Gardner's was nowhere near as bad, in fact last year I doubt it would have been a penalty. The RL disciplinary being how it is though (a lottery) who knows

I don't think Meli was looking to kill the player. He just got stepped and flung out an arm.



Whether the injury or ban will be longer is debatable.



All in all, we brought this on ourselves as a team. Get get a penalty from the first kick and stuff it up. Watching that game you would think we do not like the ball. Lance in defense is aweful. I'd say get shut but we have no one left.



The war or whatever has gone on with Gaskell is biting us badly. As we have players playing all over the place.



Unless we can keep the ball we are going to get shot to pieces.

Cant argue it was a crap tackle but I honestly dont think there was any malice in it.

It was a shoulder charge, as was Wilkin's. Both are illegal, both players know this, yet both were idiotic enough to use it. And Gardner had already committed the cardinal sin of coming off the line, so leaving a 10m wide gap for a try to be scored but then that doesn't surprise me either as Gardner has been pants this season.

I think you'll find there is a difference to Wilkin's and Gardners . Wilkin went looking for him and got him GArdner was trying to shut down an overlap. I can also assure you Gardner didnt have much of any choice as he was outnumbered , it was rush out or look like a tool just stood still

On your point about the shoulder charges, they are both on report for shoulder charges so presumably that interfering old goat on the sidelines thought they looked the same. However, Wilkin's did look more aggressive, and wasn't actually even remotely necessary while Gardner's could be justified as per your post.

Our best chance is to hope Dobson's injury means he cant carry on or carries on limping round and hope for some more Eden brainfarts
