Well done Saints, was a pleasure to watch you beat them Pie - eaters!! My personal man of the match was Mr Lomax, outstanding game he had.

Plenty to work on for sure, but whatever happens from here on in, Saints were top drawer today. We should have confidence going into a new season that we are capable of beating the "best"

I think partly our 'worse' discipline contributed to us getting the result. Far too often, we've threw ourselves of the tackled man, tackled to stop progress rather than to hurt the man and generally played Saintly.



Today, we were mongrels. Roughing them up, slowing down play, hands in the tackle. Yes, we get pinged a few more times, but we weren't bullied and that's the first time this year I can say that following a derby.



Get into 'em in the same way in two weeks time.

It was no purist performance! but those players in the those Saints colours gave body and soul until the final whistle, you could ask no more and at the end they looked weary! and need that week off.



Now it is up to you "Die Hards" in the semi final get off your backsides and get to Widnes, make it a sell out and show them players you are willing to do the same give everything! they deserve it.

Great performance and it looked like it was on from the first minutes because Wigoon looked like they thought they only had to turn up to win. Not having a week off will push them too much. Even if they manage to beat Catalans (no guarantee) and us they surely won't have enough in the tank to beat Wire. It takes a lot out of you and we know that because we've been through it in a number of recent seasons. I would not write off Wigoon but it's a huge challenge for them now.

I think we're done for. We look absolutely shattered at present, and because of that we're doing uncharacteristic things in attack and defense. That was a very tired Wigan side out there today IMO. And I don't have much faith on us progressing further. I'd much rather we bow out next week than somehow limp to the GF only to get belted by Wire.

As I said on there it's not hard to work out how wigan play but shutting the Rat down is far easier on paper than on a a rugby field
