Watching it back I'd still say it was a penalty but the injury is just down to Wheeler being made of Cheese. I wonder if as well as a man of steel we should have a man of cheese award for the most injury prone player in a season

Hoffman didn't hit the standing leg and the RFL are obsessed with the standing leg this season. He didn't hit Wheeler's head either. That doesn't mean to say there was nothing in it. Just that it didn't fit this season's fashionable dangerous tackles. Another ref would have given a penalty for it.

The review committee looked at it and decided there was nothing wrong with it, so why would another referee have given a penalty, and how do you know?

Because referees referee differently, so stop being obtuse.

Christ, it's 2 rounds ago now. It's gone, forget about it. It was reviewed and there was no case to answer so he did nothing wrong. It's Rugby League and it's a very hard game, things like this can occur at any time in any given match. Move on and talk about the future instead of moaning about the past, it's not as if Saints have never ever done a late hit on a kicker.

The hit tackle by Hoffman was not illegal. A match official confirmed this to me after the game. What was questionable was the timing.
