The amount of cap space we could free up by letting wello, Ade, Laffranchi plus the ones like Meli, TP and Perry should allow us to bring in top quality players but we are giving dead wood like wello, Laffranchi and Ade new deals.

Yes, only one player per club can have a 50% reduction and ours is on Wello. Wilkin and Gardner both qualify also should Wello leave, which he certainly should do IMO.
