I feel sorry for Wello, he fields the ball and takes it back then a tackle later has to take the ball in again. I cant defend him on the kick off after Makinson's try though.



We are simply over using him going forward because our forwards arent nearly as fit as a freak Wigan side.

Er, did you not notice the common themes between last week and this? Forwards who were e and poor ball control. What do you expect halfbacks to do against those odds exactly? In addition, our halves are inexperienced at this level and have pressures they didn't experience at u20s. They tried hard under the circumstances but we had a lazy a$$ bunch of forwards tonight. After Wigan's first try, they gave up.



Wilkin was outstanding again though. And Makinson did well in a thoroughly beaten team.



As for Wello, he should be dropped until his form returns. Either he is playing with an injury or his form has just gone. That happens. Put Makinson at FB or bring back Ashe, whichever. But Wello is a liability at present. And with all the other liabilities we have in the team just now, we don't need him being one as well.

It's the forwards stupid.



We are saying Wilkin our ball playing 2nd rower was our best forward.



That says alot about the pack.



HOWEVER.



We are not a poor team, we just had a poor game. Lets not move to panic stations after 1 game, lest we forget our poor start to the season and the turn around Royce managed under difficult circumstances lossing players and the Eastmond thing.



We are right to be down, but we are far from out and 1 game does not a season make. This was a challenge for the top spot, not a basement battle. A win next week and suddenly we will be world beaters again. (Not saying we are going to win). But lets not get over dramatic, I'm sure Royce isn't either with this loss or the previous victories we had when the going was good.

I was allways taught its the player coming forwards job to call the ball,It was over Wello and imo it was down to LMS to call for that ball.

wellens is not at is best at moment but who is better in our team to play there lomax and gaskell can do very little if our forwards are getting better but i too think gaskell been the better of the two last couple of weeks

Depends though , if Wello made the call he takes priority over a prop. Wello backing into LMS will also have made it difficult for him to step forward and claim the ball.

Wellens didn't want to know with that one. He's the fullback, he should be dealing with that. His reactions and movement are just so slow that he's never where he should be.



A classic one was one of Tomkins nothing kicks. Any other fullback in Super League would have swallowed it and made 20 metres easily. Wellens let it bounce and Mackinson ended up fielding it almost directly under the black dot 20 metres out as Wellens hadn't managed to get there.

To be fair, we can't play any worse.
