Quote mistermoo="mistermoo"ALL Wigan games? You mentioned in another thread you only make the effort for the "odd Wigan game"!!
You mention not getting excited about playing the likes of Salford, Hull KR and Catalans? Have you seen those games this year?? The first was the opening of the new ground (a must for any real fan surely), Hull KR was a high scoring draw and Catalan (who are the only team with 100% record) beat us with the last play of the game!! Three very poor examples.
To be honest I hope the club introduce a voucher scheme for the higher profile games where fans have to provide ticket stubs from a set amount of previous games, so that casual fans with your attitude can not get a ticket unless there are any left after the fans who can be bothered to go to games have got theirs.'"
"Casual fan"? Listen, pal: I'll bet any money you like that I've spent a hell of a lot more money and gone through a hell of a lot more hassle struggling to get to games down through the years than the likes of you ever have.... If league results ever start to matter again then I will happily go through the same turmoils again regularly, but not before.
I say it again: why should I spend 100 quid and a mega stressful couple of hours' driving to come see a game the result of which simply doesn't matter [iat all[/i. If
anyone on this board can give me one single good reason why that's a worthwhile endeavour, beyond the pathetic "you're not a real fan" c**p that you numpties only seem capable of, then I'll be there every week in a shot.
I am sick and tired of coming out of grounds after results that would once have made me overjoyed or angry and being able to feel nothing but ennui instead. I can see no point in putting myself out for occasions that I can feel hardly any emotional attachment to nor investment in. I want nothing more than to be able to see my team on a regular basis and feel anticipation/excitement/etc. at the outcome of the game, but the RL completely robs me of that now.
If you're happy ploughing through the soulless 27 game debacle then good on you. I'm not. I envy your continued ability to get excited at us throwing away a hard fought win against a good side early in the season, even when the loss actually means nothing and counts for nothing. I wish I had rose-tinted glasses like yours that let me get worked up about such games as well the way I once used to. But I don't. Deal with it.
