Had it been 100 meters rather than the 100 yards that it was Brotherton would have won. He was gaining on Jizzum for the last 30 yards and those few extras meters Brotherton would have won.



The difference was Jizzum got up to speed a lot quicker than Brotherton did.

And if the season ended at the end of the weekly rounds Saints would be the most successful rugby league club of recent times (in terms of the league)

There was nothing in it and when you watch the replay you'll see that Mr Chisholm started a fraction before anyone else.



The reason it didn't pulled back was we had already had two false starts and the Grand Final was due to start.

Dan Brotherton apparantly looked like a decent player, he scored against both Halifax and Warrington and looked extremly fast in the mans fastest race competition.

Saints buy in a ringer just for this and we still cant win fastest man!

Another thing to note is Brotherton has only just signed for Saints from amateur RL so wont have the professional sprint training and conditioning the other runners will have had.



Hence it may be that with the right coaching he could be somewhat faster .

On the other hand at 6ft 4inches we may end up bulking him up to the extent he is 3 yards slower
