| Quote Saint Simon="Saint Simon"Exactly mate.
Last year our best prop was a kid who had just come from the championship . This year we have a much more experienced Walmesley, Maose and Amor . They wont be getting bullied by any pack.'"
Add Manu sia and Wilkin to that, they ain't going to be getting bullied. I accept other packs might get the better of ours but I don't think the likes of maose, Amor, walmsley, sia, Manu, Wilkin, Roby are players to be bullied.
I'm pretty certain we are in for another frustrating season with our attack. Not only have we got no stand off but also no strike centre. The pack can work their bottoms off and Walsh can his great passes wide but if the payers on the edges like our centres can't do anything with the good ball they get means we will struggle in attack.
I can see us reverting to one up rugby with a kick at the end of it.
I can see how on paper Turner might look like a decent 6 but it's just not going to work. He's not got a rugby brain, not got direct running style when he takes on the line. So we basically starting the season off how we finished last season, still searching for a player to play 6.
By putting Turner at stand off, we've lost what little threat he had out wife which IMO makes us weaker this season.

| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"I'm expecting a much better Saints pack this year for sure. Masoe will add plenty of aggression when he's back although only in short bursts. There still are a few that are a bit 'too nice' but it should be as noticeable as in previous seasons.
Last night has certainly wetted everyone's appetites for the season and I'm looking forward to Good Friday already.'"
I've no problem with players trying bully players and intimidate players like the Wigan pack has done to ours over recent seasons but I don't like the hitting late off the ball. We lost o'brian and gardner to late challenges by Wigan last year.

they was stood square to each other McIlorum was the first marker.
Adrian morley went at him straight on as well.
Ryan Bailey had a couple of cracks at him as well.
And in this modern day fighting is becoming a rarity because of the automatic ban from it so its less likely we will see flair ups, but when it does happen your hardly likely to see McIlorum backing away from it.
He always tackles hard no matter who is running at him and he is far from a coward.

Who cares if stood straight in from or not. He's a cheap shot artist but I don't think he'd back down from anyone either which I like in a player but I don't like his cheap shots.

Have to agree there. There's been a lot of exaggeration when it comes to Wigan's defence, but it's clear to me that every once in a while our props go too far when closing down opposition pivots; and (moronically) seem drawn to putting in the hit when, really, they should be pulling out because the ball has gone. Taylor has been guilty of this impulsive stupidity for sure a few times, Dudson and McIlorum too.

Like I said, I've nothing against a pack being rough, intimidating and aggressive but I don't like off the ball cheap shots. They are dangerous and cause damage. The attacking player naturally relaxes when the ball has gone so not prepared for the impact off the ball.
A certain Paul Deacon dislocated my jaw a long time a go from a off the late shot. I quickly learned to raise my elbow (Bobbie Goulding style) to protect myself after the ball has gone

All i am saying is he is far from a coward. A coward in my opinion is a ryan bailey likes to kick off with people a lot smaller than him and then backs up till the rest of the team joins in.
