I am perfectly happy to see no Saints in the England squad. Aside from our dismal style of play this season which is bound to have had an impact on whether anyone at all was chosen, it is essential that Robes gets a rest. He's hardly had a break for a number of seasons and I personally would like to see him fresh and rested ready for our new coach to come on board next season.

The only omission I feel slightly bitter towards is LMS, he more than deserves a shot this season.

I thought Josh Jones and Lomax would have made it, but your pack next year dosn't sound very English apart from Roby>>> Perry Laffranci Manu Soliola+ Puletua not many of them from Thatto Heath but looking fearsome!!

Some of the names selected, shows that he is experimenting a little, but I would have thought our Cockney Saint was worth a shout as he has been a revelation in our pack since we've lost Graham. I thought he wouldn't have been able to make the step up but he has proved me wrong and probably many others (if they're honest).



But glad we have a squad able to rest and have a good pre season ready for 2013

I agree with this - going into next year with a fully refreshed squad is a real positive.



I feel for LMS, as it's a travesty that Mossop gets a spot before him, but from a Saints perspective it's all good.

Didn't someone on here say saints squad is oozing with quality ?

The depressing reality is although the England squad looks pathetic it's hard to argue against, we only have Roby. When you go through our English players they really are not good enough. Makinson for me is the only one who could push for a place.



Wellens - past it even at Super League level

Shenton - been poor this season

Jones - progressing well but never an international yet

Wheeler - always injured

Lomax - isn't good enough at 7 for international yet

LMS - too inconsistant

Clough - average

Flanagan - good tackler but never international

Wilkin - couldn't we have used him as as a transfer fee for Taylor from Hull KR?

Dixon - average

Gaskell - average

Lomax had a good start to the season, average middle of the season and a very poor end of season and IMO hasn't been good enough to be selected.



Josh jones is nowhere near ready and shouldn't be selected.



I think LMS was unlucky not to get a call, he's had a very good season.

I think Mac is taking them high altitude training next month, do you think someone has forgotten to tell him the altitude effect only last a few weeks and not until the world cup next year.
