| Quote 1984saints="1984saints"we are all saying gaskell cant tackle this season he as missed 19 tackles same as lomax so does this mean he cant tackle too think not'"
There's a difference between being a good tackler and being a good defender. Lomax misses the odd one but he usually at the very least makes a nuisance of himself. Gaskell is quite prone to being caught out of position and simply not being there to make or miss a tackle.
FWIW, I don't think that Offside Monkey was being dismissive of Gaskell as a player or as a long term prospect - he's just made the perfectly valid point that, on recent evidence, Gaskell defending out wide against Warrington's backline is a cause for concern in this match.

| Saints 32-30 Wire
Can't see it being a low scoring game and I imagine Saints have a lot to prove after last week so I'm sticking my neck out with a narrow Wire defeat.

I don't know whether he ball watches or what, but every so oftenwhen the man he's marking gets it, he's given them way too much space. It was first done by Welham, and then another since before Carmont.
He seems perfectly able to complete the tackle once he's got hold of them.

Our derby is the biggest, and the rivalry is the biggest, but there is a mutual respect between Wigan ans Saints, both have glorious pasts, decorated with legends, Wire are horrible, small time, arrogant scrotes that think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread because they have won 2 challenge cups back to back, horrible, horrible little club.'"
Nice to see we get under the skin.

| Quote 21-12="21-12"You certainly are, your team are all ready to pick up pensions next season, and your club bring hardly any young talent through your youth system, where as Saints are going through a transition, they are developing the likes of Gaskell, Lomax, Makinson, Foster and planning for the future like us, dont worry it'll be Saints and Wigan back at the top in the next 5 years, Tony Smith will leave sooner or later, you'll have no young talent and be back were you belong, 3/4 down the wrong end of the table with the rest of the small clubs.
Anyway
il go 28 - 16 the OAP's'"
You fell for the troll but didn't do the research.
Hands up if two of your young players got MOTM against the touring Aussies when beating them.

| Lets hope the Saints boys are a little stronger in the drive and the tackle this week. Not saying we should have beaten Wigan, but we should have given a better account of ourselves last week.
A 2nd below par performance will have the fans very concerned and the players may start to get it in their heads that this year is not for them.

It must really hurt playing Barrow,Leigh,Sheffield etc every week.
Remind me who sent you lot down again??? oh wait a minute...
Anyway,
Can see a close game tonight, no more than 6 points in it...18 each at half time with one try to nick it in the 2nd for either side (hopefully Wires).
