He did a fantastic job in getting so much success from a relatively ordinary squad, but the some of the tactics he used and all of the style of play he employed to do it will leave a very bad taste in the mouth for a very long time.

It was a one on one tackle, nothing wrong with. It seems the RFL agree with me, so it's easy too see where the bias is. |

The RFL wouldn't know a dangerous tackle if it hit them in the face. They just get stuck on certain types of tackles - standing leg, chicken wing, etc - and everything else doesn't count, whether it destroys a career or not.
But technically it isn't the RFL who makes the decision about disciplinary anyway. |

just wait till the weekend, the chicken wing is the prefered Leeds tackling technique. Knees in the tackle, 2 words spring to mind - 'Ryan' and 'Bailey'. Leeds make wigan look like a bunch of angels.

having seen the tackle, i thought wait a moment i remember seeing exactly the same thing in a match not long ago. so i got out my dvd and scanned the game for the same incident. it did not take me long to find it and it was horrible, absolutely horrible. the tackled player lasted about another 5 mins before he went off and did not take any further part in the game.
just to let you all know who the player was, it was ryan hoffman and which players took great delight in attempting to seriously injure him, well none other than three cleaner than clean little angels from the saintly team of st.helens.
just goes to show that saints have some dirty barstewards who go out to seriously injure there opponents. |
