| Wigan can start signing who they like for next season anyway.
Tommy Leuluai is off to NZ Warriors.
George Carmont will retire.
Roberts just has done.
Fielden is OOC 2012 and it's difficult to see him getting a new contract.
That will leave money available after all the increment payments have been made to players on long term contracts.
Ian Lenegan has always said he runs the club just under the cap so that if a quality signing becomes available Wigan will have the capacity to make the signing.

| Surely with Wigan's much vaunted youth system there will be homegrown players to step in/have contracts upgraded and replace these antipodeans? Perhaps it will mean that Sam Tomkins will no longer need an RFL dispensation for them to go over the cap?

Or, he may have actually said that they had to run the club OVER the cap, if they were to keep Tomkins. Which would be like, er, the opposite of what you just said.

as if fielden will be on less than kopzak i am sure your club will need to cut the wage bill rather than expand it.

| I wouldnt have thought so.
Fielden has been on a downward spiral since the moment he left for wigan whereas kopzcak is soon to hit his prime as a super league prop. One a first team regular and making waves in international rl and the other plodding from one injury to another and one bad game to another. You do the sums, who do you think realistically can command a bigger wage from next year

stu didn't have a bad season when we won the grand final, hes had some injury's yeah. he was once the best prop in the world and a senior player who will still work hes socks off a smaller team will make him one of the higher paid players where as the other still really needs to establish his self before commanding a higher wage.

| if he can stay injury free I would like to see Fielden back in a bulls shirt. Maybe a replacement for Nas if Sammut gets kept.

| Quote Ferocious Aardvark="Ferocious Aardvark"Not so. Only if the club agrees to pay and the RFL approves a Termination Payment to the player will the original salary cap valuation be removed, but the Termination Payment will count and must not take the club over the permitted total.'"
Not necessarily. That only applies if the club is making a specific payment as part of the termination, which of course they may not be:
Quote Ferocious Aardvark6.1.2 Where the proposed transaction is the termination of a Playing Contract with one of the Club’s existing Players, [uas part of which the Club proposes to make a new payment [/u(in a lump sum or in instalments) to the Player that was not provided for in his Playing Contract or other arrangements (and therefore was not previously included in the calculation of his Salary Cap Value).................'"
The general principle I stated previously re salary still holds.
