Hopefully the max points deduction is a green light to tip the wink to staff and suppliers that they'll get paid and then tell the Bank and the Tax man to shove it!

Can the 6 pts be appealled against if new owners came in and paid debts off like in wakefield crusaders case?

They didn't give me or anyone else on here a penny. They apparently paid over 700k without an audit of the books, then a similar amount for the lease, then stood by whilst 'we' handed over another 500k which went to same way as the £1.5 million - a situation one might reasonably expect to have been avoided had the RFL sent the accountants in.



I'm not grateful. I'm appalled at the both the startling failure of governance and that the RFL are complicit in this fiasco.

Perhaps I didn't make myself as clear as I could.



My reading of the situation is that the RFL are basing the penalty on the terms of ABC's proposal, one of which will have been how they intend to deal with creditors; that will have been included in the offer they received yesterday.



If I'm right, it could suggest that they're close to agreeing a deal with ABC; the full 6 points indicates a newco is on the cards, making little or no payment to creditors and being allowed to take over the Bulls SL licence for the remainder of this franchise period.



I guess the thorny issue is the Odsal lease, which is very difficult; the RFL obfuscated themselves into a corner with their 'iconic stadia' rhetoric and as a result, ABC could find that there is very little room for negotiation on that front - if the RFL don't realise at least the purchase price, it could be a PR disaster.



Just thinking aloud really - either way up, I hope it's resolved soon; as usual, it's the fans who suffer for the failures of paid officers of both the club and the governing body.

its 6 points as going into administration occurred during the season it has nothing to do with debts owed etc wakey and crusaders were deducted 4 points as they went into administration in the off season IIRC

I think its reasonable to assume that the ABC consortium do not intend to do so. Remember, the RFL have seen their offer - and they've imposed the maximum 6 points having had sight of it yesterday

But what about if xyz consortium came in and bought the bulls with the intention of paying the debts off?

total cobblers. Its an automatic 6 point deduction for entering admin then RFL have discretion to reduce the penalty dependent on amount of debt repaid. Spelled out in operational rules. Crusaders and wakey going into admin in off season had nothing to do with them only getting 4 pts. Their repayment of a suitable percentage of the old companies respective debts caused the reduction in the points deductions.
