| I was p!ssed off at half time, but now that I've had time to reflect it's hard to be that disappointed if I'm honest.
Think about the state the club was in this time last year, think about how bad our finances were, how bad they STILL are no thanks in part to the RFL.
Given all of that, we still have a side currently in 7th place in the league and one that looks good enough to make the playoffs come the end of the season.
We just played a side that has won 5 of the last 6 grand finals and before today had won their last 7 league games and were running hot.
What did you seriously think was going to happen? We were never going to win, the odds were stacked against us before a ball was even kicked.
For where we are now in our rebuilding process, we can't realistically be looking to topple sides like Leeds/Wigan/Warrington. The efforts shown in the second half have convinced me that the players we currently have in our squad wear the bulls colours with pride and WANT to play for us/FC.
In the situation we are currently in, I don't think we can ask for much more than that.

Sounds like you have the same attitude as the players had in the 1st half.

I think that's a bit harsh on the players. As a supporter I'm allowed to have an attitude like that

Shocking 1st half, improved scoreline a bit later on but Leeds dominated us in every area. Think we need a better organiser than Gale at 7. He's trying hard but too often he picks the wrong pass.
Unfair to single one player out though, it wasn't his fault we lost and the whole team want a bollocking this week IMO.'"
Agreed about Gale, he is just chosing too many wrong options, wrong pass, kicking instead of passing. Very poor performance overall, we were better second half when we had some fire, but where was this in the first half. I also think we need a mongrel, fed up of cheap shots and no one seeming bothered. The high shot by Bailey at the end, why is no one standing up to the guy? Not saying run in and throw haymakers, but run in start shoving a bit and stand up for your team mate!!!!!

To be fair what is Gale supposed to do when the forwards aren't laying the platform? We struggled to match Leeds physically pretty much all game.

| They did look almost scared when leeds attacked in first half.
Agree about the mongrel. We have a lot of hard workers, but (Bateman aside) we have no one whos a bit nasty. We're missing elima, whitehead can get narky if someone's in his face but we need more than that sometimes.
A big joe or a Sam burgess would do wonders for our pack. I fear we will get noticed as soft by the other teams if Cummins doesn't address this soon.

That's a fair point and one I was talking about after the match.
He does deserve more time when the forwards start laying the platform. I'm still not convinced about him as our 7 long term though.

| Add into the mix that he missed out on pre season he is bound to take some time to slot back into the team. I'm more concerned about the errors that Sammut comes up with that puts the whole team under pressure.

It's more when we were attacking Leeds try line. Kept picking the wrong pass, kicked on third tackle when we had some momentum in second half, one bounce and went dead with no any one where near it. His kicks from deep i thought were very good, but he just doesn't look convincing attacking the line.
Also will someone tell the players when we have a scrum and there is a minute left, to keep hold of the bloody ball! Two weeks we've dropped from a scrum on the 1st tackle and conceded a try right before half time.

With the sort of player Sammut is, you have to take the rough with the smooth. Yes, he might make errors but he can also produce some magic that can turn a game in our favour.
I think we need to look at our early season form for what it seems it was and that is that we were punching above our weight. We beat all the teams who you could be considered beneath us, but apart from the Huddersfield game and the draw at Leeds, we haven't shown that we can run with the big boys of the league.
But tbh, I said before this season kicked off that we should just take what comes results wise. The team was put together on a shoe string, long after the rest of the league were done with sorting out their recruitment, apart from Huddersfield obviously, meaning what players remained available for us to sign were not of the highest quality. However, I feel that quality may come back in the next off season given that for the first time in a long while we'll likely go into an off season without some sort of trouble which means our recruitment won't be hamstrung by missing the boat due to financial trouble or being left guessing if an overpaid aussie mercenary will actually honour the large contract he was given and readily signed.
So, in conclusion, although it's never nice to lose to neighbours, this year at least it's not the be all and end all. 2013 is merely the first true step on the long road back to recovery.

| I don't think it is right that we should simply accept the rough with the smooth regarding Sammut though. He can be a very exciting player and has produced some fantastic skills so far this year. But equally he often leaves you with your head in your hands asking why the hell did you just do something so stupid.
Moving forward he needs to find some consistency in his game.

I agree thought he was in shout of bein mom, wasnt sure bout him before season started but he turning into a very useful player gets around alot and tackle like a beast when its needed, wasn't fazed by the high shot when he wwnt for his try.
I don't know why donno is out in the cold he may not be the best attacking player, but when he is playing we seem a lot more steady and he really gets around
