Action: Terry Newton praises new club and has sly dig at old club.
Response from Wakefield fans on here: He's awesome, he's great, he clearly sees how fantastic Wakefield are and how terrible Bradford are.
Action: Danny Sculthorpe praises new club and has sly dig at old club.
Response from Wakefield fans on here: He's a childish oaf, he's an idiot, what an @rsehole, how dare he say anything bad about Wakefield.
Regardless of what was said and my slight exaggeration of the responses, they pretty much did the same thing, just to a slightly different degree. And yet the double standards are incredible.
If anyone still doesn't understand, I'm afraid I just can't dumb it down anymore.

| Quote DILLIGAF="DILLIGAF"Their ability to play the game was not in any way relevant to the point. The point was people are slating Sculthorpe for something Terry Newton has also just done, and yet he seems absolutely fine to do it? Playing ability doesn't make a difference in how you carry yourself.'"
Be realistic man. You can carry yourself any way you like in pro sport if you have the goods to back it up, just look at Wayne Rooney etc.
This is the difference, in no way am I pretending Newton is the model pro and for the very way he conducts himself on the field he is not in my list of favourite players. Off field I have no idea as to what he is like. That said he's always been a good player at all the clubs he has played for, yes even you lot. I have no reason to think we won't receive the same, all be it from a Newton past his prime.
Sculthorpe has never had a prime just occasional spells where he has shown promise, this is fact and has happened throughout his career. There is the difference, to use your term do you want me to draw a picture? It's really not rocket science.
If Newtons last season with you was not so good might I suggest you look at your coaching set up - he was not your only player to heavily under perform last year was he.
I expect Newton to do a job, I don't expect him to be a world beater. Sculthorpe will have the odd good game for you, especially at the start of the season. He may well have a productive season if he avoids injury which is highly unlikely. He is however not the quality the Bulls once had and no way is he good enough to be in a team looking for top 4, no way.
What remains fact is that he broke all the club rules and above all broke the players own rules which he agreed to (Watene fund). That tells you IMHO that you are not getting a team player, you are getting a disruptive player for very little gain IMHO. Is Newton not a team player? I don't know I've never heard it said he wasn't?
We shall see.

Your making yourself look utterly ridiculous now, I almost feel sorry for you.
Please find the quote from Newton and post it, and Ill post the Sculthorpe one. Then we can compare the "sly" nature of the digs. Get real.
Even sillier, where have any Wakey fans described Newton as awesome etc, evidence please.
Has he slagged off Bradford or made a direct attack on McNamara, please provide evidence.
Your comments about painting pictures and dumbing it down tells me a lot about you and your attitude. I can certainly understand why sadly you can't spot the difference between the normal generic guff players say about their new and old clubs and something a little bit more personal and unpleasant.
Grow up.

as has been said, thats just silly. there is no sly about it.
if you check my postings on scully over the last 3 years (there's no reason you would) you will see i have been a supporter of his generally, however there is no doubt he never fulfilled his potential or played with any real consistency. i just liked the style of rugby he brought to the game. skill, guile, he just needed to get more out of each spell. alas he spent a lot of time injured but i would never hold that against a player. however there is no getting away from the fact that he has acted like a complete turd since the incident on the team coach and at his age he should have grown up by now. i think you'll get some decent rugby out of him in flashes and he may still feel the need to back up his comments and really endeavour to play well, but he will never be a dominating force such as lynch, vagina, burgess et al have been. but then i suppose that is not expected anyway.

| Well it has certainly got the Wildcats knickers in a twist!
I couldn't care less what he did at Wakefield, he'll get a fair crack if the whip at the Bulls from me. I don't have great expectations from him, but he will hopefully do a job to tide us over given the lack of Props available this year. We could really do with somebody like Crossley breaking through this season to add some competition.

| I try to avoid judging new players until they have had chance to prove themselves. I learned my my lesson back in 1996 when I said that one particular signing was a crazy mistake, an untalented brainless thug, Leeds must be laughing their heads off at being able to offload him, etc etc

This whinge at an ex club sound familiar?
Quote sarahjaneThe next season I played a fair bit, part of a four-prop rotation, but it wasn't the happiest part of my career. I had to just cart the ball up and I couldn't use any of my skills'"
His excuse for failing at Wigan. Sounds very similar to his excuse for failing at Wakey. Here's what he had to say, back then, about Kear.
Quote sarahjane I'm really enjoying myself, especially with the freedom that John allows me to play with.
'"
He's really is a bit of an inconsistsent fool on and off the pitch is old pudding face Sculthorpe.

A week's wages? Do you mean per game or as part of his salary? Surely Wakey weren't paying him £98,800 a season
