Eddie Hemmings said... during the Hull KR v Castleford game that Jamie Langley missed out because of something to do with the RFL requiring/requesting something like 177 hours between games when it came to a head test.
(I was only half listening and I was tired, but it reminded me of the film 127 Hours...)

| I saw in the press today that the Bulls have now used all their loan options for this season, as the limit to how many players you can have on loan is 5.
Just wondering, if the Bulls renewed the loan of a player, would this count as loan number 6, or just an extension of the previous agreement?
Question for someone whom may be in the know.

I think it's 5 people at any one time. So an extension would continue as a loan for that player.
Although I have asked the question here there and everywhere about how many loans a club can make at any one time and throughout the season and I don't think anyone came back to me! And I'm usually wrong about things in general, so I've really just wasted a minute of your life typing this...
Hmm.

| Think its maximum of five loans at a time rather than five for whole season. If it is the latter then reaction of bb2014 to RFL wanting to leave us in special measures for rest of season makes a bit more sense.

I saw it mentioned in the above article, but after reading again, it looks like it's a maximum of 5 at one time.

Managed to find section of rules relating to loans. It IS five loaners at any one time and not five per season as someone suggested. See section C1:2:15.

Whilst looking at rules I realised that someone at RFL really does have too much time on their hands. They even have a section of rules for the cheerleaders!. They aren't allowed to chew gum or slouch during the match

That said, if in February we'd had all 5 loanee slots filled, I'm not sure if we'd be able to bin them and bring in 5 new for March, then April, then May, etc.

Way rules read as soon as a loaner returns to their parent club then loan slot becomes available again. So in theory we could do exactly what you suggest although I doubt there will be that big a turnover of players.

For some reason, it may well be down to football or playing Football Manager years ago, but 12 is stuck in my head as a figure for the season. But as I said, I've asked around forums and no-one seems to know.

| If there isnt a rule on a total number of loans per season then Im sure the RFL will soon make one.
