He has been discharged from LGI Hospital and is now resting up at home. He will have a heart scan in 4 weeks time and will know more about the possibility of playing again after this. He looked pretty shook up when I spoke to him though.

Bradford coach Mick Potter believes dehydration may have been partly to blame for Adrian Purtell's heart attack. Potter had concerns that his players received an inadequate water supply, saying: "I wasn't happy. I think they needed more water. I think the other team showed the way. They just rested on the ground and waited for some people to come out to get water to them. I think all the officials were hydrated up on the sideline enough. The people out there performing in those conditions, I don't think were getting enough."

How so? What I took umbrage at was the drinks break point, specifically the link implied, not the issue of dehydration. But I'll make my main reply on this in the separate drinks thread, where it belongs, this is the Purtell thread and IMHO (for what that may be worth) it deserves to stay that way. |
