The big problem is Referee Transparency. We have seen over this weekend some shocking decisions with Carnleys 'try' and Taia's ability to stay on the pitch despite taking O'Briens head off. Nathan Brown has spoken out about the incident but he will end up with a bigger fine than Taia whilst Sandercock refused to comment knowing how much it will hit his pay packet. Something needs to change because the refs are influencing the game far too much.

I'm sure there is a mechanism where they can meet with the referees hierarchy and raise issues.

I don,t think there is, seem to remember Ian Millward saying around 10 years ago that there is no transparency between club and officials and then said a similar thing when he was at Castleford last season.



It seems as though the tail is wagging the dog these days and its becoming the referees performances is controlling the shape and outcome of the game, the RFL have created too many grey areas that enhances inconsistency.

The clubs are also at fault as well in overstretching the laws of the game, they do there homework on each individual referees weakness and use it to there advantage.

As we all know players dont play from the same hymn sheet and officials don,t referee from the same hymn sheet, if things don,t improve I can supporters turning there back on a game dominated by inconsistency and frustration.

Agreed about referrers influencing games. Today we haw Child refereeing and Roby (who is quite frankly the worst referee I have ever witnessed) touch judging.



Whoever wins today isn't the team that necessarily performs the best, it's then team that is the most disciplined and doesn't upset the officials. This is wrong IMO, referees should not be noticed.

the referees are in a very difficult position. If they wanted to they could potentially blow up for something every other tackle or ruck as there is virtually something technically wrong. However if they do then they get critisised for blowing up for every minor thing.



In reality if you want consistent refereeing it will have to go down the route of union and blow up for every technical fault.

I really liked McDermott as a player but can't stand the man as a coach!
