Can't the SL clubs just all join the NRL(UK) and let them run the game?

How would that make any difference? Would UK TV companies suddenly pay alot more to televise a local game?

Yes if we had the Stars they had in their league! Our poxy 1.8 million cap worth of players wouldn't attract anything!

Where would those stars appear from, without weakening the NRL.

Forget the NRL if we could bring the likes of Sonny Bill or Greg Inglis to the Super League you'd have Sky on their knees, plus what your forgetting is the British talent that have gone and left our game for Union or the NRL, if the cap was bigger they wouldn't have gone, unfortunately abRugby League career is short so if a player is offered more money elsewhere then there off.

Yes, but if those players were playing at existing SL clubs why woyld Sky pay more? Who will be the new subscribers?

If league had the money it would go hunting union players again,i cant see a reason for the cream of the nrl to come over here now

The point is sort of that over in Aus, under the NRL management, the game is going from strength to strength and over here, whilst no doubt the standard has gone up, to the extent that our players are actually now in demand as better thah anything most clubs there can produce, somehow the entire game seems to be in a financial morass.





Oh yes, because I really think that if the NRL took charge of SL then changes would instantly happen by magic, don't I.





The NRL has shown that, done the right way, RL CAN be a major and wealthy sport, and CAN attract extremely substantial and widespread sponsorship. In cash. So what, if any, is your point? Do you believe that the RFL are running things to the max, perfectly, and so despite many clubs being on the brink, every possible penny has been squeezed from every possible source? In New Zealand, the warriors attract sponsorship and TV viewers on par with the netball teams and 2nd tier Union. In Australia, Perth, Adelaide, WA and to a lesser extent, Victoria, do not give a flying one about RL or the NRL. RL is big news in Sydney......even then, the biggest average for a club side there is smaller than the Swans AFL side.



Do not mistake the Americanisation of 'stralia TV deals for anything less than it is.....one of 2 sports, the smaller one BTW, that less than 5% of the country watch live on FTA and that has an average attendance smaller than Championship soccer in the UK or S15 rugby across the SH.
