| not starting another thread about league structure. But is this the direction we will have to eventually face? London good as gone and unless some has 30million to spend they will never truly be safe, Bradford in financial troubles again and Wakefield and Castleford still don't have new stadiums and no doubt will face the annual "we are Struggling".
will it be boring with just 10 teams? or can we cope and strengthen the commercial side of superleague for a couple of years and then start the expansion when the RFL can financial back clubs if they struggle?

| Cut teams and reality is that you're cutting dozens of full-time RL players and coaches who will either go to another sport or just give the game away.
Let go of the London toehold and SL may aswell ask for Sky to cut the broadcast rights in half...

| ten teams may be required in the short term then expand properly with a wales, toulouse and london side in the future when the game can afford it and gets TV deals linked to expansion.
A ten team comp isn;t exactly appealing though unless they cut the number of fixtures, who wants to play a team 3 or 4 times in one season? in theory you could end up playing another team up to 6 times in a year!

| 10 teams would be too few. In fact SL already has too few teams from a supporters perspective.

I dont believe that myth. They have been virtually none existent for 4 years and sky are still around, in their present condition they offer nothing more than a punchline to a joke. I would like nothing more than London to be the equivalent of what Melbourne are to the NRL but they aren't and to just keep drip feeding them and praying it sorts it self out just wont cut it.
personally i don't want a ten team comp but its the only way super league wont be worrying about who goes bust next.

| A 10 team is stupid, we are talking abought the best game in the world do not cut it now, it should have been done at the start of super league and each year or every 2 years add 1 or more teams once the league got stronger to do it now would be

the best game in the world maybe to us but clubs have smaller budgets than championship footballing clubs. At the moment if a club has a couple of bad months of turnover they are close to the brink its ridiculous. In my opinion superleague needs to be dropped and a whole overhaul of the organization needs to happen to build towards some as at the moment its like hanging on with fingernails!!.

| Also realistically there is only 10 teams who are in a financial position to grow and get stronger.

| 10 teams?
I'd suggest only half a dozen SL clubs are currently viable and... apart from Wigan and Leeds... those other 'viable' clubs viability is dependent upon the largesse of their sugar daddy.

[uTranslation[/u: A 10 team SL doesn't provide enough whipping boy SL rabble opposition for Leeds Rhinos to flat-track bully during the regular season.

| yep a ten team sl is future for European RL.i would let it be known that this is the direction we're going in and it will be introduced in 2017
Catalan,Toulouse, 1 more French club.
London.
wigan
warrington
st helens
leeds
hull
huddersfield
That would give the RFL/RLEF £4.5 million ish to assist london and the two new french clubs with there development for 3 or 5 years, after that they're on there own, and the money then goes towards assisting new franchises from any new areas that come forward.
