| Quote meast="meast"at this stage of the season, i think realistically, only 4 teams can say they are going well, the rest all need to improve.'"
The point of my post was to question whether it would be good for the game IF, the 2 clubs outside the heartlands actually finish 13 & 14 this season and are relegated.
Of course the Bulls look to be in major strife off field and, unless someone with very deep pockets comes over the horizon, they will struggle, big time.
However, the prospect of London and Catalan being in the mix, looks to be increasing by the day and IF these are the clubs to be relegated at the end of the season, the whole concept of "Super League" will be shattered at a stroke.
Most people said that it couldn't happen but, is certainly looks possible at the moment.
I would suggest that ALL of the SL coaches are looking for improvement, even Cas & Widnes, who are exceeding most peoples' expectations.

| Its the conditioning team at Rovers that need sacking. Weyman, Keating, Burns, Costigan - all overweight. I know theres a chippy at the top of the road from Craven Park, but they need self-discipline.

| I'm pretty sure Catalans will improve when they get their pivots back on the field.

| Quote The Devil's Advocate="The Devil's Advocate"My original comment was in relation to the OP’s statement that, S.L needs a strong Catalans team.
If, (and I know it’s purely theoretical, also highly unlikely, due to continuous mismanagement
) the whole of S.L was made up of English teams, why is there a “need” for a strong French team?
No doubt your retort will be the strengthening of the French national side however, I personally don’t see it.
Perhaps you subscribe to the view that, a second French team is now what’s required & I’m sure that many Aussies would be licking their lips at the thought of Jollyboys MKII.
So yes S.L requires twelve strong teams, but doesn’t need the inclusion of a French one.'"
A Wakefield fan having a pop at another team for using foreign players is pretty hypocritical. The only place Wakefield get more of their players from than overseas is Leeds,
SL needs strong clubs, losing one of our strong clubs is not going to help that situation. Les Catalans are already a strong club. Losing a strong club when we have nothing strong to replace them with will make us weaker.
Regardless of the arguments about the french national side, regardless of the the commercial considerations of having a wider geographical spread, regardless of being the only pathway for french youngsters and that they are giving more debuts to more players they train than a club like Wakefield, which are all arguments in favour of Les Catalans imo. Les Catalans are a stronger club than most in SL, they have a bigger fanbase, better facilities, better commercial success, better visibility and have had more on-field success than most clubs in SL. To damage them would damage RL.

So this would be the same Leeds who have continually plundered the Wakefield talent pool since the game began.
Yet you have the audacity to pull us up because for one season the flow is reversed, all be it mainly loan deals.
I'd take a good hard look at yourself before spouting your snide and hypocritical nonsense.

Wakefield dont own a talent pool. They dont own the rights to kids growing up. There are, and has been for a long long long time, more players who leeds train and develop who go on to play for Wakefield than the other way around.

You want me to provide accounts for every SL club for you?
Les Catalans havent gone bust, have a stadium fit for purpose and not falling down which actually regularly has decent crowds in. That alone puts them above a fair amount of clubs in SL

That's not proof it's just another of your assumptions.
Bradford used to get huge crowds, do I need to spell out what went wrong there?

No they don't nor do Leeds so you're contradicting your original post.
In recent years Wakefield have picked up a number of Leeds cast offs and fringe players, correct. What the actual score is between the two clubs I don't know. What I do know is the Wakefield players who have gone the other way were to a man potential superstars for Wakefield and each time stunted the clubs development. Not all Leeds fault I grant you but in terms of quality you got the better of the deal with Amor being the only really successful Wakefield signing IMO.
You got Poching, Aiton and Ellis for starters, those three alone outstrip anything in return (though I like McShane). Also I believe had Pitt and Feather stayed at Wakefield they would have developed into better players in a less intense environment (it suits some players).
You're not the worst by any means, Huddersfield are basically Wakefield A whilst Wakefield has become Wakefield B and unlike Leeds they don't seem as generous in return.
