Barring several months in the middle of this period when Vijay Singh overtook him he was number 1 from 1999 to 2010.

Taylor has been number one for roughly that time but certainly hasn't had to starve himself for 365 days a year, break every bone in his body, do something very dangerous, be followed by an ambulance every moment of his professional career and shift all over the country every day.
