Wigan are paying him around £300,000 a quantity of this wage is exempt from the cap, add on his media work and it'll be a little more. I think he'd struggle to get much more than playing Union at club level but obviously international caps are worth about £20,000 to £30,000 each. I think the NRL would be more an life and rugby experience that any thing else as the money he's earning here is extremely good.

I like Mortimer and he has worked well as an impact player this season, however he isn't as good as either Pearce or Maloney. Besides if they both go to Origin, they will need more than just Mortimer.

Superleague cap is £1,650,000.........if you're right, he's currently on 18% of the Wigan cap and whilst he can earn very good money in the NRL, but the Aviva currently has a cap that is essentially bigger and as for French Club Rugby.....he could earn 3 times his current wage there easily.



Also, on the "one player excluded" rule in the Aviva, he could become the highest paid player on the RFU's books and not even count on the cap at all.....
