Spot on. I can't stand it when people focus on a half-back's defence. The whole idea of a half-back is putting players into gaps, making breaks, creating attacking plays. I've no problem with Sinfield at 13 but he should be nowhere near the England 6 shirt.

Don't we have this discussion about Brough around this time every year until he and his team fall out of form? If he can maintain his start to the season and perform in the big games (last week wasn't one) then I'm sure he will come into consideration.

Not seen any sustained form from Chase since 2011 while Sinfield ( a player I admire in the domestic game) has been frequently ineffectual vesus Oz opposition. If we need a kicking game to have any hope of beating the Aussies and kiwis then brough and Briers (if fit) are the best in our game.



Sadly we have a third rate coporate nodding dog as our England coach. He was an abject failure at the Bulls. If he had not got the England job there is no way he would have got another SL head coaches job. Infact there are few SL clubs who would emply him as an assistant coach.



Our best players have high quality coaching at club level and then have to put up with Steve Mac's drivel at national level. On this topic the likes of Andy Wilson are silent.

Whether you are right or wrong my point was that I can understand why Brough hasn't been picked up to now. If he continually falls apart at the business end of the SL season then what makes you think he will suddenly perform against the best international teams in the world?



I appreciate that we aren't spoilt for choice, believe me.

But the thing is he hasn't fallen apart for the last 3 years, he's been consistently excellent for Huddersfield all season, apart from the end of 2011 when he was out injured! The issue seems to be that a lot of people either judge him based on years ago or on the abject failures of the rest of the Hudds side in the second half of the year in 2011 and 2012.

Not seen any evidence of Brough continually falling apart nor of chase putting together many quality performances in during the last 15 months. Either way Steve mac is hopeless.

and shouldn't a half back be judged on what he does in attack as thats what they are usually renowned for? his attack isn't bad either.
