Apart from party political hounours (from all parties) & the military the rest are chosen from nominations from the public. there is a process in place for you to get a petition up to reward people. Maybe us league suporters don't care enough to do that?

You miss the point clearly and where have I criticised McCoy? Knighthoods for sporting efforts alone are ridiculous in the extreme. Making a point about where someone comes from and the fact they went on to be successful is both disrespectful and denigrating to where someone came from but also a slight on the family and fails to understand that people from all walks of life can succeed and become successful, some through effort and some by luck or a combination of both.

As far as my comments about Cueto WHOOSH

I expect the next rugby league royal honoree to be Samuel Burgess. A English victory in the 2017 World Cup might just earn him a knighthood.

Mind you with all the Ed Sheeran hysteria sweeping England, I won't be surprised in the near future if the royals give an award to Sheeran's lookalike cousin James Graham by mistake.
