Yes, same for me (in Sydney), they're clearly filtering the menus - by UK / non-UK at least. The irony of not having a League menu in a country where it is one of the two major sports and Union is a minority affair is not lost on me... unbelievable, I wish I was shocked but it's so bl**dy predictable from the southern-led media.
(No doubt Gutters will say this is the RFLs fault...)

BBC Radio 5 Live yesterday said that the 75,000 crowd expected at Old Trafford will be the biggest ever Rugby League crowd anywhere in the world.... Clearly WRONG. I presume they meant for an International?

The viewing figure for the World Cup Final peaked at 1.92m (14.9% audience share).
A little disappointing given the 2.8m who watched the semi final but still a decent figure. Clearly England not making the final had a big effect and put off some casual viewers. |

Last night the BBC World News TV (international service) blundered in its headline intro, calling the winners of the rugby league World Cup "the Wallabies." However by the time they got to the story itself they had converted to winners to "the Kangaroos."

36k watched it Live (3am) here in NZ with another 63k watching the replay at 6am and the replay on FTA not rating .....all figures less than last weeks semi-final figures?
Full page "post-mortem" in the Dominion Post (Wellington based National paper ) here today....half of it speculating about Stephen Kearney's future, the rest about the dangerous in-goal areas and Thurston dedicating his MOM award to Alex Elisala.....no match report? |
