| I just hope that when they finally uncover some proof of salary cap rorting, that the RFL punish the club as severely as Melbourne were by the NRL.
But I suspect they'll just paper over the cracks like they have done previously.

| No doubt Senior's explanations to anyone who asks will have the same level of detail and naming names as Paul Cullen's allegations of a widespread drug culture in rugby league did last year.

| Quote Dave T="Dave T"I don't doubt that other clubs want players that we are signing too, we are going for top British talent, so I'd be stunned if there was no other interest tbh.
The fact is that the offers that clubs make may be very different, and this doesn't necessarily have anything to do with cheating. Wigan may have had less cap to be able to offer to the likes of Carvell and Ratchford at the times of their signings. Wigan may simply not have valued these players as high as what Wire do. Wire have an ageing squad and are needing to bring in younger talent, so this may be our priority which makes us more aggressive in our pursuit of the likes of Ratchford, Myler and Atkins.
There are an endless number of reasons why players sign for one club over another, it is nonsense to simply put it down to cheating.'"
The fact is, Warrington are appearing to repeatedly outbid other clubs for players, and unveiling marquee signing after marquee signing. Warrington even snaffled up the Monaghan brother with the 'exotic' sexual tastes when he suddenly became available at the 11th hour, when surely all the cap room had been spoken for. Salford reportedly offered Myler a record deal, but Warrington still trumped it (and despite interest from top clubs)
I can understand the argument for players prefering to go to established big clubs like Wigan, Saints or Leeds, where they may be prepared to accept a lower salary for the honour of playing at a big club. But Warrington have had to try and grow from a humble status in the wider game, being perennial also-rans and frequently relegation-fodder. Look at Man City in football. In order to elbow their way onto the top table, they've had to pay premium wages to attract players.
Something smells dodgy, and it isn't just the Mersey.

The Monaghan's brother's image rights were sold by his agent to the Canine Defence League for megabucks, so he was able to play for the club for just expenses...

Was thinking the same thing. If it's Wigan it's a 2nd offence.
They should be banned from the CC too.

There have been no other clubs willing to compete with Warrington in the TRANSFER market eg transfer fees that don't count on the cap, for the players they have signed. When there was Ellis went to Leeds and Westerman went to Hull but lets ignore those. Think back to Carvell and St Helens saying they wouldn't pay a transfer fee but would take him for nothing - I wonder why Hull never let him negotiate a move to Saints.

You haven't heard of Chris Hicks have you. Given the timing and circumstances of Monaghan's availability it would suggest Warrington got him at below market value.

Salford record deal = a pittance. Myler had 12 months left at Salford and Warrington offered a transfer fee that no other club would match and therefore the negotiations with Myler were not done in competition (not like say Shenton or McCarthy-Scarsbrook who being out of contract can tout themselves about and start a Dutch auction for their services). Pay a transfer and you will get a good deal on the salary, wait for a "Bosman" and the player will get the good deal.

Like there's any actual evidence.
"Player with story to sell makes outlandish claims he can't back up and then refuses to substantiate them" shocker.

There is no evidence yet. Hence the 'when'. There is no doubt that SL clubs are cheating the cap. It's just too easy to do.
I suspect we'll see a lot more revelations as the salary cap era players all start to retire. The RFL as usual will stick their fingers in their ears and ignore it.

| Back to the initial player, wasn't Kev Sinfield linked heavily with RU until committing to Leeds for a while? He'd fit the whole "high profile internatonal" description.

Sorry, You must have Leeds confused with a team that has to cheat to win things.. like Melbourne.
Secondly if you are serious in that comment then you can't have heard Sinfield's GF victory speech of 2009.. or at least you have severe issues surrounding trust and believing people.
