Quote vastman="vastman"Well then you clearly don't know your local area. Fev are de facto Pontefract's team and always have been.
Featherstone had a similar average than Wakefield when both were in the old first division - so I wouldn't look down your nose at them if I were you.
However one thing is for sure they will always out average London and will always produce good players.'"
Really, only lived in Featherstone myself for 10 years and have friends and family that have lived there all their lives who support Featherstone who I've gone to games with.
Where exactly have I looked down my nose at them bud, seriously, how do you go from me saying I don't think they could average 7K to me looking down my nose at them, that's quite some bloody leap and all the more hilarious if you knew anything about me. I personally would love to see the day where we can start up our old rivalry with them in SL but it doesn't take away from the point I made.
Yes they did average between 3000 & 4000 back then, similar to what we were pulling in, which was an appalling time for us but it shows how hard it will be for them to almost double what they did back then, which was a relatively good time for Feath with it's CC cup win and promotion to Div 1.
Even taking into account the whole of Ponte which has about 28k people living there, it will be a mighty tall order for such an increase imo. Look at our club for example, in our City when you take away Cas & Feath areas and others that wouldn't count themselves as Wakefield people we have over 200k potential punters and look how hard it's been for us to get up and over 7k.
Like I say don't get me wrong I like Feath as a club they're my second club & they're doing so much right on and off the field and i'd love them to prove me wrong.
