Ed Farish’s statement yesterday mentioned the club are looking for an overseas coach. As it is generally the way for contracted coaches in the NRL not to leave their posts to join other clubs what are the options available to us?

Non of the above for me. Sheens or Cartwright long term. Not really sure who else is available to come straight in to be honest.

That crossed my mind also.

Just for the record, Smith was with Easts and not Souths. In 2010 he surprisingly coached Easts to the GF, losing to Wayne Bennett's St George.

Ed Farish said this morning that they're looking at the UK too, and one name he mentioned was Alan Hunte. He's now got the opportunity to show what he can do.
