| He seems to come over like an impressive bloke however the intensity thing can go either way.
Not sure if any of you guys like NFL, I support Denver Broncos, a few years ago they appointed Josh McDaniels as head coach who came over very similar way to Parish in interviews and I had high hopes, he looked tough, straight talking and had a stellar background as an assistant at the Patriots. 6 straight wins at the start of his first season and everybody thought they had uncovered a diamond. A year later he was sacked.

| Quote slfandownunder="slfandownunder"Good luck Salford fans. Mr Parish isn't held in high regard by the players he has coached previously. It's true he does have friends in high places who are happy to recommend him. I hope he does well but I really have my doubts. I predict short term success but in 12 months time you will be shaking your head.

How much was your crystal ball? Let us know I've been having a crack at this lottery thing for some time and not had much luck. PS the same was said about Michael McGuire. Don't think he's done to bad.

You could probably ask the same of a certain Michael McGuire. Im not saying I'll be booking my seat at old Trafford in 12 months however we can all agree that coaching previous clubs has sometimes no relevance at all as long as they have had a good apprenticeship. And Parrish isn't young he has had a gruelling learning curve over the last 10 years from what I've read.

NFL a game invented to sell advertising space on TV not really a sport just a theatrical production.

Michael Maguire was on the coaching staff at Canberra Raiders before going to Melbourne. He had 6-7 years there as assistant. When he accepted the Wigan role he had his Head Coaches blessing. Matt Parish was an assistant for 3 years not 12 that has been previously stated.
I am a big fan of SL, used to watch a lot of games when I lived in Yorkshire in late 90's to mid 00's. I am Australian and follow the NRL
But facts are facts. Matt Parish was unemployed, he wasn't working as an NRL assistant. He was helping his food friend from school and Rugby Union Ricky Stuart with the SOO. Do some research.
Wishing him and Salford the best of luck

It was The Entrance mate in the Central Coast comp, my brother coached against him and beat him every time.

Cheers thanks for that. I knew it was on the Central Coast. I am a Qlder and love to watch the Qld Cup on TV Sat afternoons.
I hope Matt learnt a bit from Ricky and applies it to Salford. I always support the underdog and hope Salford can make the 8 this year.

Absolute balls. A game "invented" 30 odd years before John Logie Baird even dreamt about television. But don't let facts get in the way of having a pop!!

Please don't compare Parish to McDaniels!! McDaniels is a horrible arrogant little man who thought because he knew Belichick he was owed a living. When he runs our best players out of the club you can make that comparison. Until then I'll compare him to a Raheem Morris thanks!
The Broncos deserved what they got though!

Was it, do some reading up old boy, 1967 the old game went bust and NBC re-invented it to what it is today a 60 minute effort that takes 4 hours because of all the TV advertising, but then again lets not let the facts get in the way of the most tedious theatrical productions of all time.
So no NBC no game simples

Surely a similar thing could be said about most sports, including football/Sky? It wouldn't be anywhere near what it is today without tv.
I'm not going to go into it because this has gone completely off topic, but it's your opinion that it's tedious. The Super Bowl is one of the most watched televised events in the world and these days I'd much rather sit and watch a game of american football for three hours than spending 20 quid to watch a 90 minute boreathon at Boundary Park.

| I like Parish.
A genuine straight-shooter who's just what Salford needed after the [ilaissez-faire [/iregime under McRae.
