| Look my United ticket works out at £28 a game, United do not reduce ticket prices for matches. At City they have season ticket holders and I think it is about £25 a game cheapest, but for a number of games they have reduced prices down to £20 to get fans in against teams like Fulham.
Bolton and Wigan are doing 2 matches for £25 total in March to get people in, we are not United or City but we are like Bolton and Wigan and we must look to some of the tac-tics they are using in these austire times to try and get people in.

| Using modern football prices as a comparison for what's affordable and what isn't is a bit daft, to be honest.
£20 is too much. I know a few people who won't pay it. Say what you like, but it's an issue that really should be looked at.

=#0000BFI'd hazard a guess that it's uppermost in the FD's mind at all RL clubs and I suspect they haven't got much room for manoeuvre judging by the similarity at all the SL clubs - as a comparison (which of course might be totally irrelevant) Manchester Phoenix Ice-hockey tickets are £14 on the day

But that doesn't make it right. People will pay the equivalent of around £60 for a Broadway show (that's the minimum ticket price, by the way), that doesn't mean RL should look to it as an example of a good pricing structure. Football has gone away from being a game for the working class and families. Plenty of people who used to go regularly no longer do so because the cost is prohibitive. Those that do still go have either been going for years and are lucky enough to be able to afford it, only do a handful of games each season due to cost, or are there for the experience/corporate side of things. To some people going to the football is the new going to the theatre.
Look at football on the continent. German supporters have kicked off when clubs tried to charge 20 Euros for a ticket. I've been to a Serie A fixture for the equivalent of around £12. These clubs have a vibrant support with youngsters coming through following their team, where as the average age of Premier League football's support base is growing year on year. We could do well to learn from that.

However, the big cheeses at the big Italian clubs aspire to the Premier League model. I'd expect their prices to rise sharply quite soon as they have done in Spain. Sign of the times I'm afraid.

True, but again that's no reason for rugby league to follow suit. I'd suggest the Italians want to do that to purge the supporter base. A bit like the Premier League clubs have been trying to do since 1992.

a couple of years back italian clubs were offering season tickets to women and children for 15 euros, they have a real problem with attendances. only this united were actually standing up to high ticket pricing by who reckon they are charging their fans £77.50 for the europa league so can charge united the same.

A lot of their attendance problems come down to the way general supporters have been treated by the authorities. Where do you think "no al calcio moderno" came from?
Quote Bigpev="Bigpev"only this united were actually standing up to high ticket pricing by who reckon they are charging their fans £77.50 for the europa league so can charge united the same.'"
Fair play to United for doing that, but they've only gone to Bilbao about it due to pressure from IMUSA and MUST. I don't remember them taking the case to UEFA when the cheapest European Cup Final ticket was £80. And whilst there are a handful of £24 tickets available (most of the seats in those sections are STs, so they're not as readily available to others), there are other tickets ranging up to £42. Then you'll have a booking fee. One mutual friend we have will be paying £60+ for the home leg anyway, so not a million miles away.
It's still expensive and United, city and other clubs still prefer the type of supporter who'll pay the money on the odd occasion as well as spending money in the Megastore. That's just the way football has gone. Look at Arsenal - they have non-corporate STs that cost over a grand. Which brings me back to the point of be careful what you use to gauge affordability on.

Im going for 3.1k im hoping deep down there will be a few more with the weather being nice and having won our last two games. Having said that it’s a good possibility we could also get below 3k. An cembarrassing crowd either way.
