I'll clarify either way: I'm not suggesting that anyone should boycott the Swinton game ( it'd be a little hypocritical as I'm going myself despite usually avoiding friendlies).



I am, however, sceptical of the motives of some of the parties involved and do not want to see the one group of people I have absolute faith in (the fans - including Forever Reds) taken for a ride.



I'm also a little dubious about this mystery 'buyer' and, until there is absolute clarity over the whole situation, I'd urge the likes of Forever Reds and Cavendish Street to keep a tight hold of whatever funds they have worked so hard to raise.

Just worked out that PYB joined the forum in September 2012, around the same time as Dantes Inferno disappeared from posting. Is this a coincidence considering that a lot of what he posts seems very similar to DI?????

We are seeking some clarity from the RFL or whoever can give us the answers as to where we stand with the donations/pledges so it has not been a fruitless task before we part with any monies,it will be held in the account.

Swinton themselves are probably relying on income from the game to be able to pay the bills so doubt that would be an option sadly. Have to admit I thought championship side keeping full receipts on one pre season game against superleague opposition was still the case. Could be wrong though, it may now be a shared gate.

I would like to think that if as I suspect the gates net receipts do come to Swinton, then as a club we do make a donation to your fighting fund.

Just collected my tickets from the ticket office.I asked how they were selling and the lady told me very slowly. She did however assure me the match will go ahead.

If you buy them online you can use an interactive seat picker to choose an exact spot. A glance at the available tickets in each block (the extreme two blocks in either stand aren't currently for sale) will show how well it's selling.

Would imagine that most people will purchase tickets on the day.
