Does anyone else cringe when someone comes on here telling us who we're confident of signing? Marwan says a lot of things. Some of them come true and some don't, but the lesson of Red League stickying up the Wakefield forum with his premature infatuation over Danny Kirmond is surely that it's best to wait and see what actually happens rather than getting all fluffed up too soon.

I agree, by all means share information if you know were talking to a player (as we quite obviously are with HH) but to claim he's signed and a done deal is crazy.



Just to reiterate, Harrison Hansen would be our best signing for a long, long time.

I tell you what with Tasi, Hansen and Hock on the pitch at the same time there's going to be some massive hits going in.



Anyone got any ideas of stats from when Hock and HH played together at Wigan? Can only imagine that they can give away a fair few penalties between them.

Does anyone else think it's more than a little coincidental that this thread started on Thursday when I stated I 'had it on good authority' and 72 hours later the Dr is providing us with crossword clues at an open fans meeting, basically nailing it on?

To be fair, people are rarely jealous of the signings other clubs make. No-one was tearing their hair out in despair when Wigan signed Scott Taylor or Blake Green. When you signed Matty Smith, there were even some Salford fans glad to see him go (although they were misguided, to say the least). It does raise the question of which signings [iwould[/i make you jealous (apart from the obvious ones like members of the Australia or NZ squads who are inaccessible in everyone's minds except Marwan's).

I'm not sure it's that much of a coincidence. The club have been pretty open about their pursuit of Harrison Hansen, but the deal isn't done yet - and may not be done - and being 'confident' about it isn't the same as him lining up for us next year. So, yes, while Marwan's enthusiasm is indeed infectious, I think we need to be careful that this enthusiasm doesn't escalate into embarrassing acts of bell-endery on other club forums. One Red League is enough (if there is indeed only one).

I think the Cas fans "reacted" when we signed Rangi.

I understand where you're coming from Red John, but I have merely stated I firmly believe that Hansen will be a Salford player next season. The Dr appeared to back that up yesterday. I started the thread as a way of informing fellow fans what I had heard 'on very good authority'.



If this doesn't materialise I am happy to say I got it wrong. And the original source will also have to admit they got it wrong. I am also of the belief that the deal may have already been done.

i agree with that to a certain extent that there isn't many signings that make other clubs envious but i would be if you signed hall, hardaker, Lomax, Bateman, Daryl Clark, Ratchford, Ben crooks and tom Lineham. If wigan was in need of a half back i probably would of said chase. The Hull Kr fans was upset they lost Scott Taylor not so much Blake Green even tho he is quality when fit.

We Have just signed john Bateman don't think many people will seriously be that upset if Hansen leaves he has give everything for Wigan i think most will be happy for him to make his own choices.

The big difference between a lot of Clubs and Wigan is that in Wigan's eyes the Club comes first. They have never been afraid of selling players or getting rid when the time suited them, and they rarely get sentimental over players. This is not a dig at them. It's served them well in the past and will continue to do so.



If Hansen's interested in signing and the deal's right I'm sure Wigan would let go. They have talented youngsters coming through and they have the reputation that can bag them a big name. I think it all rests with H and what he thinks is best for him and his Family.



Until then I wont get too excited until I see it on the Salford site.

Ryan Hall I could agree with. The others I'm less sure about. I didn't feel particularly jealous that Wigan had signed John Bateman, for example. As I said, I don't think many people ever get jealous of other clubs' signings. There's always something to give you a sense of reassurance that your club doesn't need those players (Hock's off field stuff, Clark's unprovenness, Ratchford's lack of a settled position, that kind of thing).

actually i see your point about Bateman massively talented but proven nothing yet, if you had signed him i wouldn't have thought twice about it other than its a good signing but if Leeds, warrington or St helens to a lesser of extent i would of been massively disappointed because its a gamble that could pay massively for them.



Like i said with Hansen if he decides he wants to go to Salford then id be happy for him and you will have signed a quality player who would take you a massive step forward.
