I was pleased last week when it was announced he was coming back next year. However, if he's changed his mind and doesn't want to play for us then get shut but not for a penny less than 125k or a decent swap deal.



It's simple he's an asset and an emerging talent that's contracted to Salford Red Devils. I can't believe some of the Cas fans on twitter who believe they should get him for free because he wants a transfer.



Let's assume another scenario. Sneyd went to Cas this year but played poorly and didn't make the team. Sneyd contracted to us is told by Salford he isn't required and we won't be honouring his contract. What do you think would happen? Sneyd and his agent would take legal action against Salford. It's crazy these contracts can't only work one way to suit the players only.

That's upper rubbish. What about all the years investment and development Alan Hunte and the club put into him.

Nobody should expect him for free, however a tribunal would take into consideration how much a year Marc was on and how many years he had left on his contract. We all know that he only had one year left on his contract and some one must know how much he was on a year but i would hazard a guess it isn't a lot.

Am I right in thinking that because he came through our system any wages we pay him would been curtailed as far as counting on the salary cap? if so we surely must be.have been in a position to offer him the highest wage?

No. Home grown cap cap was never voted on and is therefore yet to be implemented. Even if it had been brought in, the first 100k of his salary still counts on the cap. I wouldn't even guess how much his current contract is, but I'd bet if his next contract is 6 figures, that's probably 3/4 times the current salary ...

But as Marwan has tweeted, he rejected a new deal from yourselves. He doesn't want to be there quite clearly.



A deal will have to be made with a club, I just hope Cas can negotiate one that suits all parties.

I would say this is the most stupid thing I've read all day but someone on Twitter suggested Koukash should simply release him because he doesn't need the money.

I can't see the point in forcing a player to stay when he doesn't want to. More so if he isn't first choice in his chosen position.



None of us really knows the conversations, real or imagined, between Sneyd and the club's management, so any inferences that the lad has been dishonest are nonsense.



I saw his quality a couple of years ago and offered that, to me, he was the closest I'd seen to Shaun Edwards for some time. Others disagreed. Apparently some big names might be interested, so I may not have been so daft afterall!



If he wants to go, let him. There is no value in making a player do something he doesn't want to do. But at the right price. And that is nothing to do with the value of his contract. It has everything to do with his perceived worth.



So far as Alan Hunte is concerned, if Salford achieve Sneyd's worth, he will have done his job. And should be congratulated on that. He also has others who have the potential, but SRD are not a club to experiment with their youth in the way that others have.



Wigan turned out what appears to have been a superb performance tonight with a massive youthful contingent. SRD have some equally talented lads in A Walne, J Walne, Owen, Davidson, Ford and Tyson, to name some, who are capable, together with the other youngsters, Evalds and Fages, of emulating the Wigan kids, given the chance.
