| Quote Bigpev="Bigpev"totally agree VR at every match but if we look back a few years when we played Hull and 2 no trys were given by the VR and SL introduced sound to the VR after that game because of the total cock up, it just makes me wonder why we have them. If not at every game then SL is unfair but if they can not get it right when they are there then get rid. Currently Wigan, Leeds, Warrington et al have a better change of getting a VR than Salford so it makes the league unfair.'"
Bigpev it is a very elitist league when your only form of entry is a business plan and once you get elitism you get the big boy's ruling the roost.just look at the Premiership.
For what it is worth Salford played decently until half time when firstly Saints got there act together, secondly Salford started making way to many errors and then thirdly they ran out of steam.Good effort though and having watched swinton play Widnes this season i think that should signal your first win.

| DI two matters:
I read again all your comments on the other thread: very little was positive. There is a huge diffrerence between carping and criticism.
Also it is not that people do not want to read the truth: I don't think your comments are truthful. It is that the thread slips into you and MM making cheap and very unhelpful comments and some readers reacting to them. I was listening to a fan at Saints who predicted your comments with resignation in his voice.
So tell us who you are: you hint as being an ex-player with more axes to grind than a certain Cumbrian full-back. Explain how you know all you do. And explain why you suddenly appeared on this board at the time of our last coach. Where were you before (we've had many shambolic teams before)?
Also explain your game plan. You state we need to axe several players. Who in mid February do we replace them with, where do we get the money (as you've also sacked the Chair and several others), and how do you see us moving forward?
Finally, what effect do you think you have? I remember a line manager who could tell me all I did wrong and ignored what I did right. I ended up ignoring that person as other feedback gave a different story.
If you feel that Salford cannot be improved, then why keep annoying those of us who are critical friends of the club?
I will never "foe" anyone. Not in my blood.

| Quote TheButcher="TheButcher"A good post Gerry.
It will fall on deaf ears, in the main, as like most psychopaths, they can only see what they want to see and will swear blind against anything that does not fit their view. It's a sad fact that pleasant and informative people have ceased to use this forum because of a direct result of keyboard bell-endery. Don't forget, you can always select these goons as a 'Foe' in your account settings, and their tirade of one-tracked dribble will not be shown.
A bit like ignoring the guy who yells at the bushes from the street corner in town.
'"
The voice of sanity, didn't know about the foe button I can see this forum getting less annoying now.

Brilliant post Gerry, there are certain posters on here who could learn a thing or two (or actually I suspect one or two of them are probably a little challenged in the learning area) about rationalising things from your post.
The posters with a modicum of intellect know when the team have tried or just coasted, Cas wasn't a true reflection of anyones tallents and I'm much happier to except that Salford will perform more on a par with the first half Saints effort than the second.
What does worry me is the appauling inujuries were already suffering, Moon, Godwin are two who are I'm affraid really going to effect our chance early on in the campaign.

| I totally agree with you michigan, the injuries have been horrific mate but its something every super league team comes across. Salford have just been a bit unfortunate that there injuries have come right at the start of the season. But whilst we can all have a moan about how unlucky we are why not give the promising young kids the chance to go out and showcase there skills. These youngsters will bust a gut and play with great pride in there shirt. This has been shown last season when several youngsters played and really did step up to the plate. We have nothing to lose. Just look at Cas, Leeds, and indeed Saints. The sooner these kids get a good taste of first team rugby and a good run playing and learning what its all about the better the reds will be for it. One thing is for sure there will be no lack of effort from them and maybe some of the senior players may bennefit from these youngsters enthusiasim.

| Quote Dantes Inferno="Dantes Inferno"Gerry i obviously have higher expectations than you and most of other folk on here. You are all shouting from the roof tops with a 38 - 10 defeat. I on the other hand am left fuming with how we ended up losing the game regardless of referee-ing decisions. Saints were there for the taking. So if you fail to realise by pointing out and noticing your NEGATIVES you can work on them and not make the same mistakes again. Get it. If you read the viva vievers post you recognise that i've noted the positives we can take to the next game, but by shutting out the negative certainly won't make them disappear......'"
I'm sure your fully aware by Now DI how different our opinions are and never in a millions years did I'd think I'd say this but I can't help but agree with you here.
I do still think if you just toned down the slating of the monarchy a few less people may cry treason.

| A bit of a belated post here, but as a Saints fan I was surprised how good your first half performance was. Controlled the game and made Saints look clueless. The half-time score hugely flattered us; we got lucky big time with two VR decisions. Felt rather guilty tbh.
We were able to change things a bit at the interval (genius Royce!) and you tired a bit once we started to find some chinks in your gameplan.
But, assuming your players learn from this and don't get disheartened, I can see you going better and better.
Good luck for the rest of the season!

DI : no answer (assuming I'm not a foe).
Yes, I know it's calling the shots but open up and we can then have a discussion.

| Having viewed this forum for a number of years now and being a supporter of the club for more than 38 years, enduring the good times and bad, seen it all, i've somehow never had the zeal or zest in joining the disputes until now. IMO DI recieves abused critcism uniquely off certain individuals on this forum its almost a rebellious treating, and from looking into the statements and the belief's of DI, i have to agree with most of the points he's made. It's apparent the same consistent few continue to reply with vengence this in my eyes measures how respected DI really is. Keep the faith DI the wats won't be here forever
